this is a cinquedea knife fron around the 15th century i was comisioned to make for a good customer .cinquedea means five finger and refers to the width of the blade . they were usually very ornate and guilded but my skills dont go that far. its my first and my last i can tell you

while searching for an engraver to do a blade for me i came across hobo nickel carving . i had no nickels but really wanted to have a go , so i used a silver maple leaf instead . its not perfect by any means but im pleased for a first bash .
