Holidays are always really hard

I got out of an abusive home situation a couple of years ago. Every holidays my roommates go away and it's usually just me at home and it just gives me time to myself. The first few days are always really nice but then you start to stew in your own thoughts a bit. Especially when you see peoples posts of family and them smiling and realising that's something you're never really going to have. It's not jealousy it's just this emptiness and it eats me alive. At least everyone will be back in a couple days and I can put those thoughts to the back of my head until the next holiday.
