My gorgeous petite Nertera Granadensis! I’ve had my eye on this cutie for so long, but only just made the leap to get it. My hesitation was in the fact that it’s poisonous to cats and my fur baby loves smelling the new plants, but she seems pretty uninterested.

Honestly? The face of adversity here. First my poor cucumbers were stuck in the rockiest soil, but I couldn’t keep the clone contained for far longer so it had to be planted. Then, a gopher burrowed under it and nearly ripped up the roots! Yet despite the odds, this crazy lady’s gone and sprouted regardless. Hoping this fall we will have something on the vine!

I need some catnip help!

I’ve been trying to grow catnip for months now, and purchased two clones that have been doing well. My intention is to treat it like any other herb; prune/pinch accordingly and dry the leaves out for my kitty, or use it for sedative purposes. Only thing is there’s this dickhead cat who has come into my yard and destroyed both plants!!! I don’t even have a feasible root system to grow from because this little shit tore the entire plant apart straight into the ground. I know it’s a cat because I’ve seen it sniffing around the catnip plants before in the middle of the night.

I’m going to get more clones, but I want to protect them. How do I do that? If I’ve learned anything from owning a cat, it’s that when there’s a will, there’s a way, and they will get into anything.
