“Might not be as striking, it it won’t give anyone who walks by in passing any reason to be suspicious.” Mutant conversations in alleyways, when there was one wanted for a reasonably high-profile charge? Not something your average person would brush off. Being primary colors didn’t help blending in much, either. “– ‘Sides, they allegedly have more fun. If it makes you more comfortable, I’m entirely capable of making my face less pretty.”

That was a relief; one less person shuttled off to some nameless, locationless base. Whether he stuck around of not, that was one more little victory. Scratch that - lives were pretty large victories. 

“Any last engagements in the city?  For caution’s sake, and my lack of a police cruiser, it’ll  probably be on the longer side of trips. Our resident teleporter doesn’t know the area well enough,” She shrugged helplessly, “We can do just about everything but beat traffic.”

“Nah, you just the right amount of pretty. ‘Fraid I can’t make the same offer, so you’re stuck with my face the way it is. Although I can cover some of it up for you.” Remy put his sunglasses back on, for the sake of blending in along with her. It’d be just his luck that someone would catch sight of his not-exactly-human eyes when he’d finally found a way out of the mess he’d gotten himself in.

Or, at least he hoped this was a way out and not just another mess. 

“I try to avoid engagements of any kind, chere.” Ah, the best kind of private joke; the kind that stings where no one knows you’ve got a wound. “I’ll be glad to see the backside of this city, make no mistake. Going the long way just means more time to enjoy the leavin’.”

A beat, and then he added.

“Resident teleporter? Huh. That sounds useful.” That was someone he’d have to have some words with sometime.

I keep looking at Psylocke and thinking... how much headache can I take going through weird 616 plots so I can RP her. (If you don’t read the comics, you cannot imagine how poorly she’s been treated, guys.)

MIGHT BRING BACK:

Tony or Obadiah maybe, but I have MCU fatigue and would have to catch up on a lot of canon. (Granted, Obadiah himself doesn’t have canon anymore.)

Charles Xavier (Reason I haven’t is that I’m extremely picky about the Charles and Erik dynamic. Also people often want to ship it, and I’m even more picky about shipping it. Plus, I like Charles/Moira a lot MORE but I’m STILL PICKY ABOUT IT and if I were more easy going this would be a lot simpler. I blame all the time I’ve spent RPing Scott. Also, hello, I prefer friendship/family threads and I had so much trouble finding any when I RPed him.)

My version of Ali. (Haven’t yet because my first try resulted in being largely ignored.)

Cid Highwind was a BLAST to RP, but most of the FF fandom on Tumblr is so much younger than me that I feel awkward.

Joshua Washington... But Until Dawn was real drama-y the last time I was there.

Honestly I’d bring back any of the ones on that list if someone wanted to RP with them.

It’s an inappropriate reaction, but Raven can’t quite stop herself from grinning. “He’s – got some serious values, but he does sing a mean kumbaya.”

His next sentence is notably less lighthearted; the grin fades. When she speaks, it’s in a serious tone more fitting to his mood. “I didn’t exactly have a set address myself, before I met him. He wants nothing but the best for us - for our kind. Lot of kindness in him.” She takes a slow step forward, Mystique giving way to Raven – it wouldn’t do her any good, in her natural form, to be caught talking to a wanted man.

( It would be far from the first time, but it was never to late to be cautious. )

“Full disclosure, you aren’t going to prison either way. Power like yours, they’re not going to trust you  in anything other than some military-funded, custom made cell. Trust me.” The world was full of Strykers, of Trasks, secret bases, so any threats…

“But,” she added, “you come with me to Westchester, there won’t be a cop on the planet that could touch you. Doesn’t have to be permanent – stay until the heat dies down a little, and I’ll have you shuttled on your merry way. I’ve got connections for that.’ If Caliban survived his guard’s…defection, anyway.

The smile had been comforting--moreso than this serious tone anyway--but her serious words are good too. They hit hard enough to be believable, to snap him out of his natural tendency to mistrust. 

They also make him realize that being on the run is as bad as being in a cage. He’s seldom felt more trapped than he has the last few days. 

Still, he can’t keep up that tone for long. “Gotta admit, Westchester sounds nicer than a military cell. ‘Specially with nice company. Not as striking when you a blonde, though.” He smirks and shrugs. “You can keep me from being locked up, well... That makes you my new favorite person. Anyway, if it turns out you’re lying, it wouldn’t be the first time a pretty face led me on a wrong path."
