Some random assorted headcanons I have for Tyrelliot, Tyrell, and/or Elliot:

If they were in a sexual relationship, Elliot would be the more jealousy-inclined of the two. Don't ask me to explain this. It's a gut feeling.

Both Elliot and Tyrell in canon are chronically sleep-deprived. The difference is that Tyrell knows he is sleep deprived. He owns the best mattress available, the best sheets, all of it, in some attempt to get quality sleep over quantity (it doesn't work, but nice try trying to buy it, Tyrell). Elliot shrugs it off and insists he's just one of those people who doesn't need much sleep (he's not). Given half a chance, Tyrell would try to upgrade Elliot's bed, too.

Elliot has within him the potential to be one of those people who is good at and enjoys being friends with old people. Literally tell me how I'm wrong about this.

Elliot blames Tyrell for Angela's death, since she started to decline due to the cyberbombings, which Tyrell orchestrated. It is this that really soured him on Tyrell, about whom he always seems to have mixed feelings prior to that. (Recall that it can't be the original stage 2 that sours him, because it's *after* he finds out about that that Elliot comes out to save Tyrell from being punched into a wall by Mr. Robot.)

When we meet Tyrell he has been meaning to book himself a massage or some other spa treatment for stress relief for eight years.

Elliot has had precisely one apartment his entire adult life. He never bothered to move from his starter apartment. He has never replaced a single piece of furniture. He moved a shelf once, though.

My guilty pleasure headcanon: Tyrell had a brief chubby phase in college. People still wanted to fuck him. He looked down on those people (and slept with them anyway). Now he pretends none of that happened.

Speaking of Tyrell in college, you know he fucked professors and felt special about it.

Elliot is lying to the audience when he insists during season one that he's not already physically dependent on morphine. I don't think this is even a headcanon, but maybe it is. I just do not understand why he's actually using up the suboxone he gets whenever he re-ups the morphine, if it's not to manage a physical dependence. That man is lying to himself.

Blue gloves, obvious dom-sub dynamics except they both switch so it's just messy and confusing, unhealthy devotion, Tyrell on his knees in the arcade, gun play probably.

Tyrell giving Elliot almost all his real smiles in canon, “I love him,” Tyrell frantically applying pressure to Elliot’s wound, “I have to look my best for him,” Elliot relaxing when Tyrell touches his shoulders as Earth Angel plays.

Literally the most fucked up shit and the most wholesome potential, all in the same ship. Literally, who are they.

Okay so I know we all know this already, but realistically, how on EARTH did THIS chain of events:

—James from E Corp IT calls Gideon

—Gideon calls the FBI

—The FBI calls Whiterose

—Whiterose gives orders that reach Irving

—Irving drives to the arcade

Equal the same amount of time as this chain of events:

—Mr. Robot threatens to shoot Tyrell and, after a brief conversation, changes his mind

—Tyrell and Mr. Robot turn toward the computer and JUST start to discuss E Corp’s likely response to the hack

????????

Canonically Tyrell and Mr. Robot had to have done something else before Irving arrived.

… But they probably just went for a hotdog or somethin ig, because subtext.

I’m watching the third season Mr. Robot episode today where Tyrell gets released from federal custody, and I realized something for the first time.

The first scene of the episode is a flashback to when Phillip Price hired Allsafe, and Tyrell tried to dissuade him from doing that because he didn’t think Allsafe would be secure. Price asks what his name is and dismisses him brutally. Then it cuts right to current Tyrell looking thoughtful.

Why is this, of all things, what Tyrell is thinking about at the very moment he’s being released from FBI custody after the cyberbombings?

I think Tyrell was contemplating whether the Allsafe meeting was the “moment” Price referred to in season one, back when he fired Tyrell from E Corp. Remember that? Price prompted Tyrell to find “the moment” when he made a “mistake” that led him to be fired. At the time Tyrell and the audience obviously thought of him strangling Sharon as the “moment,” but I don’t think it was. I think it was the moment he tried to tell Price not to hire Allsafe. He made Price have a bad taste in his mouth for him when he did that (because Allsafe was Price’s only shot at family or getting back the past, so it was irrationally important to him). That explains the disdain Price has for Tyrell from the first time we see them interact. And Tyrell is realizing it (though he doesn’t realize just why this moment turned Price against him, since he doesn’t know he’s Angela’s father).

This is interesting because of how it shows the shift in Tyrell’s mindset. He’s realizing how random and not about him the things that have happened to him are. Had Price not decided against Tyrell as an adviser, he wouldn’t have been fired, and he wouldn’t have gotten caught up in something that made him into a mass murderer and lost him his family. He’s realizing how powerless he is and how much of a pawn he really has been in all this. It’s a very interesting way of showing that, by attaching it to a scene that is also foreshadowing in Price’s plot for the audience. Of course we know this information about Tyrell’s post-cyberbombings thought processes more directly from things he says later, but I think it’s neat that it’s clear here too. Oh, and how do I know for sure he’s thinking about the theme of his life being controlled by forces much bigger than him? Because of the shot the flashback ends with: The camera dips to show how tiny he is compared to the height of the E Cope building.

I hate this show (I don’t).

This scene is also interesting because it suggests Tyrell is introspecting intentionally, possibly specifically contemplating Price’s suggestion that he try to “understand” the moments that led him to the choices he’s made.

Like I’m a Tyrell Wellick fan girl all the time but then there are moments where I’m like, oh yeah, I forgot, this is an incredible character lol. To take a character believably from “Isn’t everything about something?” (which he says to Scott in season one like it’s his personal credo) to “Tell me one thing, did you ever care about me?” (which is where he’s at emotionally when he dies) is a serious feat. And it is believable, in part because we get several moments like this one where we know for sure Tyrell is thinking deeply about his place in the universe and what he’s done wrong.

In the 404 deleted scene where Tyrell says “You’re not exactly stable yourself” to Elliot and then looks at Mr. Robot and says “Both of you,” and Mr. Robot starts cracking the fuck up, I cannot get it out of my head that since we know for sure Tyrell did not in fact look at two different physical people here, this is Elliot and Mr. Robot’s psychic interpretation of what Tyrell just did — ie, they’re mentally projecting Tyrell looking over at Mr. Robot — and that means Mr. Robot quite literally *feels seen* by Tyrell in that moment. I’m slightly fucked up about this.

Today I ask myself, if Elliot was so intimidated by it when Tyrell stalked him to Coney Island that Mr. Robot took over, why wasn’t Elliot that intimidated when Tyrell slipped into his apartment on 5/9 and threatened his life? He doesn’t become Mr. Robot that night until after he literally listened to Tyrell describe a murder and then presumably got into his SUV and sat next to him for the duration of the drive to the arcade. What changed? Nothing changed with Elliot’s opinion of Tyrell; he hasn’t seen him since Steal Mountain.

But it could be that Mr. Robot was less inclined to see Tyrell as a reason to come out after Tyrell cried in front of him about his father and a poem 😌😌😌 And he’s so right for that, Tyrell is as much a threat to Elliot at that point as Flipper is (and he probably likes him more than Flipper does).

I know I just posted about Tyrell and Elliot's first meeting, but I just haven't seen enough mentions of this little lip bite. I wish i could make gifs but this little screen grab is the best I can do to prove that this took place.

I know I haven't posted in months but here is your periodic reminder that during Tyrell and Elliot's first meeting, Elliot's actions in order are:

--Willingly shake hands like it's not a big deal --Smile --Glance up and down Tyrell's body --Bite his lower lip --Stare while blinking a lot --Be impressed by Tyrell's tech knowledge --Also please note that at no point during this interaction with Tyrell did Elliot's internal monologue take over. He didn't even look away from Tyrell for the entire conversation. That is not normal Elliot behavior lbr.

And Elliot's actions just after meeting Tyrell were, in order:

--Contemplating his dream of making the world a better place for everyone. Why? This could be interpreted as Elliot recognizing the increased challenge involved in saving the world if it were run by people who know what they're doing like Tyrell, like he's recognizing a worthy opponent. My enemies to lovers heart enjoys this interpretation. --Going home and being overcome by a crying bout over how lonely he is, something that happens every few weeks or so but not every day; why today, Elliot? --Has grudging, drug-induced sex with Shayla. We see this man have sex a total of twice, and the other time is strategic. There is nothing on earth that can stop me from believing that Elliot was thinking about Tyrell's little waistcoat while he had sex with Shayla.

In addition, please recall that moments before Tyrell introduces himself by offering a hand to shake but not forcing it on Elliot, Ollie forced physical contact Elliot didn't want. The contrast is obvious.

Birthdays aren’t Elliot Alderson’s thing.

The singing, the celebration, the parties, the music—it was all too overwhelming. Elliot preferred to stay at home, watching Back to the Future II and eating leftover pizza. Darlene always stopped by to hang out; neither said that it was because of Elliot’s birthday, but both knew the gesture. It brought a subtle smile to Elliot’s face knowing that Darlene knew his limits and found a way to cater to them.

Except for this time, when Darlene brought him a single cupcake with a candle sticking out of the blue icing.

“I know it’s not your thing,” Darlene said, holding out the cupcake like it was a peace offering, “but I had some extras that Dom made. So, happy birthday.”

Elliot looked at the cupcake with curiosity. The cupcake was clearly homemade, adding credibility to Darlene’s story. Blue icing sloppily covered the top of the cupcake, with multicolored sprinkles adorning the top. The candle looked dusty and old, like it was dug out from a kitchen drawer.

Darlene pulled out a lighter from her pocket. She lit the lighter, sparks flying from the device, and lit the candle, “Make a wish, and the cupcake is all yours.”

What was there to wish for? Elliot had everything that he wanted—money had been redistributed nationwide, Whiterose’s empire was dissolved, Elliot’s therapy sessions were progressing well, and Flipper was healthy and happy. Life was as close to perfect as it could be, and all things considered, Elliot was the closest thing to happy that he’d been in years.

Darlene was looking at Elliot expectantly. Elliot’s eyes scanned Darlene’s face. She was smiling, her eyes sparkling with a joy that Elliot hadn’t seen too often. After months of waiting, Darlene and Dom had reconnected, and Elliot had witnessed Darlene’s happiness firsthand. It brought a secondhand joy to Elliot; after everything the siblings had been through, any good thing was a win.

Elliot knew what his wish would be. He closed his eyes, keeping his wish in his internal dialogue: I wish that Darlene would smile like this forever.

Elliot opened his eyes and blew out the candle.

“Awesome,” said Darlene, shoving the cupcake into Elliot’s hands. She flung herself onto Elliot’s dusty couch. “Let’s order a pizza. I’m starving.”

It was Elliot’s best birthday, that’s for sure.

Tyrell from Mr Robot for the unhinged character bingo!

YES!!! Thank yooooou!

Tyrell Wellick actually makes me so insane, he is my favourite little emotionally drained maniac with frankly THE funniest character arc ever! I love him so much but I would also punch him in the face (I'm looking at you season 1 Tyrell, wtf man?)

I actually got bingo on this one!!!!!!! And a half bingo because I relate to him A LOT in some ways but uh. Yeah I haven't murdered anyone. So. We're a bit different on that front.

For the daddy issues I was on the fence for it for a bit because like his dad wasn't bad or anything he just hates him and was ashamed of him and didn't want t be like him but I thought all that could count as daddy issues because it was kind of like the main drive for his later. Crazy (Joanna acted as a catalyst for all his other stuff I think)

And for angst. DAMN!!!!! The amount of angst potential!!!! That poor wet cat of a man goes through so much in that show!!! Like Sam Esmail did not want to give him a break!!!! From like the second episode he existed to his last he was going through it!!!!!
