To explore more of Breakdown fear of being a Bottom™, I have gotten inspired by several megop fics where they (usually Optimus/Orion) vent their frustration about their love through some online forum or fanfiction site. Now what if we mixed both. In TFP it is not hard to assume that most of their online archives and forum are most likely abandoned, if not destroyed. So I just like to imagine Breakdown just starts posting on these dust collecting sites.

It starts off as mere diary type entries. Mainly about his sexual frustrations/desires. Which swiftly turns into writing practically fanfiction of vague OC-like caricatures of him and Knockout, but he tries incredibly hard to make them separate from each other (because ofc he still has that paranoia about being found out). Little does he know, that vehicons still browse these websites. So now he’s getting responses back to his posts— some even offering him money to continue writing.

And that’s how he starts his aspiring smut career!

See, I think Breakdown is a total bottom but I think he’s incredibly embarrassed/insecure about it. He’s already seen to be lesser than/weak by his superiors after the whole M.E.C.H. Incident, wanting to be dominated is a whole other can of worms that would paint him in a light that’s not “strong” enough. Being the big, tough one is one of the only things he thinks he’s good at, so leaning into these desires would strip away the last of what’s left of him.

I also could totally see it being an insecurity created from functionalism. Now I believe Breakdown IS trying to fight against it, that’s why he’s part of the Decepticon cause (or at least why I believed he joined), but I think there’s some of the ideologies are still internalized. Whether he realizes it or not. Which is why I think he would compare himself to Knockout a lot.
