“i mean, like, it’s better to smell the roses now than later, y’know? come to terms with it and then y’can figure everything else out--” saige, of course, knew she was right--the girl had enough experience under her belt to last her a lifetime--not that it had ever stopped her from putting herself in the same situations over and over again. old habits die hard. “but now y’know better, right? y’learned that y’were wrong, and now--god, i dunno--keep him closer?”

a small noise of protest escapes her lips as celeste steals a bite of her ice cream, “woah--hey, that’s like, totally not chill. now there’s gotta be like, repercussions n’ shit n’ i’m like totally bad at being bad--” with a small pout, saige leans over and scoops out a bite of strawberry ice cream, “i don’t even like strawberry as much--” regardless, she’s shoving it into her mouth rather ungracefully, “fine, fine--i’ll go into the entire dio thing if you insist--but like, also, when are y’gonna wash all that blood off of you? i mean like, y’make everything look cute, but you also look like you’ve come straight from a slasher film.”

though saige should’ve been rightfully panicked--any sane person would be if their close friend had her high school lover’s blood coating them--she was perpetually unbothered. at the very least--when it came to things that should’ve had her bothered; things that mattered, things of importance, things of...value. though being the girl that she is, her mind had resorted to only being affected by things that surely, did not matter in the long run. and as such, her cool demeanor was a curse in this moment.

“i mean like, y’did the right thing so fuck what aiden wants. ‘m glad that he’s like, not going to die or whatever--wait okay so like...why’d he come over? or did you find him like that?” she shoved a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth, tilting her head to look at celeste, “are y’all like...y’know? also like, okay, fair, are y’gonna read me to filth or whatever now? i mean like, not that this topic is even relevant right now--fuck whatever i’m doing, y’know? we are going to focus on you, and aiden, and whatever else the fuck is going on in your life, and you’re going to seep out all of this...whatever you’re feeling right now, ‘cos i have no idea, and then you’re gonna walk outta here like the bad bitch y’are and that’s...like, that. no getting outta it.”
