preparing my newly finished shetland lace scarf to be 'dressed' ie blocked. the black threads will be removed in the end
not gonna lie, the moment i put it on the cardboard and started stretching it, seeing the lace pattern open up did make my heart go quicker. it feels pretty magical
Told myself I was gonna use up my batting scraps to make the middle of this quilt and oh my god. Exhausting. I’m so close to having a big enough frankenbatting though!!!
Got the binding done on the blue squares quilt! Now back to quilting.
The green is what I quilted to make sure nothing would shift too bad when I trimmed it all down and bound it so it would stop shedding batting everywhere anytime I worked on it, the whole core still needs all the work
Of course I found a quilt on my birthday trip! We went to the Kurt Vonnegut museum (which was soooo cool, if you live around Indy it’s worth the trip) and this beauty was hanging in the stairwell!
This was probably the best birthday I’ve ever had, we went to 5 different bookstores, the museum, and had a lovely dinner. 10/10 day!

hey sewists out there. this is going to sound odd but is there like… a ravelry for sewing patterns? i.e. a pattern database for sewing patterns that you can directly download from (either free or after purchase) that doesn’t look like a scam website or also is not one small blog with ten patterns on it?
i’m having trouble finding sewing patterns, especially either men’s or unisex clothing or like. functional storage/housewares that aren’t all a specific type of aesthetic (hard to put into words, but kind of like the simply southern brand? there are SO many pattern blogs that look like that exclusively)
i know a lot of folks buy patterns from etsy but with how they handle ai i’m a bit apprehensive of it tbh

First off my #1 recommenation when working with free patterns is if you like it get it now so it doesn't disappear or be put behind a pay wall. That being said, I don't do a ton of men's wear and I don't know of any ravelry like sight for sewing patterns. But here are the ways I've found legit free patterns online in the past.
I have looked up just "free sewing patterns (specifications)" which does work sometimes. I find that if a blog post is before 2020 you won't be given an AI pattern. I've found a good simple waistcoat pattern this way that I'll hopefully actually sew up the actual product soon instead of just a mock-up.
The other main way I've found free pattern sights is go on YouTube and look up pretty much the same thing. You'll get a bunch of videos with just links to patterns in the description. It's a toss up on whether or not the patterns will still be free but once you're on a website you can rummage around and find other free patterns.
Some fabric stores like mood will also release free patterns as a way to entice people to buy the fabric and notions from their website to get the exact product that they made. Museums sometimes have cool men's wear if you aren't afraid of hystorical inspired pieces too. I shared one a while back on here.
