Like I’m a firm believer in family doesn’t mean anything and you build relationships with people who support and love you. There are few greater prisons than the construct of “blood is thicker than water.” So you’ll never hear me say “well, your sister who treats you like shit and have absolutely nothing in common with on a moral level is your sister and she loves you unconditionally, so you should make up.” Fuck her! Your mom who doesn’t pay your bills or do anything for you besides “being your mom” is emotionally manipulative and makes you sad? Stop responding, like I don’t caaare. It’s so frustrating
