That triumphant feeling when your bestie who showed you Acotar actually starts reading Acotar since you devoured it and she's now almost done with Acowar. Even better she sees all that Elriel tension already and she hasn't even gotten to the rescue scene yet or frost and starlight cuteness, ugh I'm gonna have to reread it finally.

Cas is her favorite too and she shipped Nessian from the moment they met ♥️

Does anyone remember what silly little thing Mor did back when she was getting well acquainted with Feyre?

I do.

And what was that one power of hers? Pure truth was it?

So . . .

"Mor stayed overnight, even going so far as to paint some rudimentary stick figures on the wall beside the storeroom door. Three females with absurdly long, flowing hair that all resembled hers; and three winged males, who she somehow managed to make look puffed up on their own sense of importance. I laughed every time I saw it."

How I wake up knowing I ship Elriel and people hate me for having perfect reading comprehension and great taste.

As someone who read the Acotar series once, I dove into the sailboat my brain branded Elriel and by the end of Acomaf I realized it wasn't a small sail boat anymore.

By the time Azriel flew her to the house of wind the boat was decorated with Cobalt sails, flowers, and shadows. At end of Acomaf it was built for the deep seas of a shipping war I knew I'd eventually have to sail through if I wanted to enjoy online content of them.

By the end of Acosf I was looking out across that ocean from a Destroyer.

And through it all my love for the story and the characters was not overshadowed by the ship I had built from the small moments given between two characters who were briefly shown through the eyes of Feyre, Rhysand, Nesta, and Cassian but mostly through Sjm's words.

I loved Feyre's story, but I did not hate her sisters, I did hate her father, tamlin, and more of a dislike for his decision to let Tamlin bring Feyre beyond her breaking point and still support him, Lucien.

(Yes, I loved that papa archeron showed up and saved the day, still mad it took Fae intervention and healing to get him there but Feyre still loved him anyways. Tamlin's help at Hyberns camp was the only thing I let slide cause he owed it to them. Lucien . . . Well, I don't forgive him turning his eye on all the bullshit, but I do hope we get to see him grow and I do have a small ship in my head for him and vassa and a small enjoyment on how him and Gwyn would be as friends if not partners.)

I loved Nesta's story, but I supported them having an intervention because she was killing herself and through her healing, the friends she made and she found herself along the way. Actions taken by Nesta did upset me but so to did the actions and choices of others in the book.

(This book was therapeutic to the eldest daughter in me who was a shit sister to her own baby sister till something happened and we patched our relationship.)

I know I will love Elain's story, but I am content in my knowledge that Feyre shipped Azriel and Elain, humored it aloud to Rhys even.

Nesta wasn't blind either, she too realized her friend was distant and when finding out why she did not chase him off or shut down his feelings and neither did she blast him to the whole Inner circle. She understood and offered a small comfort.

I don't know how anyone who has read the books over and over cannot see beyond the sails of their sail boats.

These characters are more than their ships, and to claim your thoughts and opinions as those of the characters is baffling.

All this to say, You don't decide that someone can't be a Nesta Stan and support Elriel because "Nesta would never"

It's right there in A Court of Silver Flames, did you not read the book? I'm just saying, Nesta is many things but she isn't the type of woman to bite her tongue when she disapproves of something.

It's right there in the books, just saying.

I have never had to read a side character as hard as I have been in the past 2 days in a discussion about whether or not this character is "lonely" and "unthirving" in the place she calls home.

Her book isn't even out.

To this day not a word has been written to suggest she is lonely despite being around family and friends.

She has not only her sisters who's relationship has finally mended, a nephew you know she adores with her whole heart, two besties she cooks and (hinted toward) trains with. Another friend (because you don't have inside jokes with someone you don't consider a friend) she really enjoys the company of enough to talk for hours into the night. (Sure they developed feelings for eachother over that time, but not in the first year or so)

The only things written about her discomfort are Nesta stopping her from helping with the cauldron, Feyre being mad she isn't acknowledging her mate when he's around, and her brother in law interrupting a kiss she really wanted and . . .

I'm doing it again . . .

I have stepped away from the conversation or else Elain will over take my own being and I'll have to wash her off by consuming different content for a while, which will be sad cause I love Elain content.

Okay, I'm good, back to not giving a fuck

Am I the only one not upset at Azriel in his Bonus Chapter?

I'm not looking to argue for shipping sake just wanting to understand I guess.

As a fellow reader, I'm just saying that Lucien thinks sexual thoughts of Elain too and his only connection at that time was knowing they were mates and not knowing her as a person.

Why is it wrong for Azriel to have a natural reaction and thoughts to being attracted to someone he has come to like over the time they got to know one another?

Rhys and Cassian were the same with their love interests before they were even together, so how come it is damning for Az but no one else in Acotar?

Because she has a mate? A mate she didn't, doesn't and has said she positively does not want.

Because people made up some headcanon about Azriel as a person and hate that SJM had a completely different character behind his silent, stoic mask?

Perhaps I see it differently because in person I am the quiet, never says much person. I understand not talking to the best friends you call family about something and burying it because how can you burden them with something so trivial when they're juggling so much.

During his conversation with Rhys what he says isn't said with possession or entitlement. It was an argument he had been having with himself for a long time and never said aloud and when Rhys ordered him it was like being thrown into that wall of emotions and thoughts bottled tightly like molotovs.

A few fell and shattered, they were spoken with hurt questioning, confusion, longing.

So why? Genuinely why do people get mad at Azriel for having normal emotions and thoughts.

Those kinds of thoughts don't change who he is, he is still the guys who helps her without question, smiles and laughs with her, listens to her talk for hours and sits in peaceful silence with her.

Having sexual thoughts doesn't take away from those sweet, tender moments.

And if you think it does, look at your own partner and apply that thought process to them too. If you don't have a partner then you're going to be flabbergasted when you meet someone you want to be with.

Like, these characters are legit characters in an Adult Romantic Fastasy series which is heavy on the adult romance.

Ignore me just ranting to the universe over a dumb post I saw on my fyp

Just saw someone claim Elain is shipped with Azriel because she'll "heal" him like he's broken and she's just the tape to do the job and that is all there is to them.

Like excuse me? Did you even read the books or just fanfictions?

Azriel's wounds are not "healing" because his feeling toward her.

He is healing in his own way, at the moment, he has stepped past a crush he had held to for over 500 years and there was no, "Hi, names Elain, here to heal your achy breaky heart with my female charms and blah blah bullshit some Elucien/Gwynriel made up.

Look it's okay to ship whoever you want it's all for fun after all but to tag your nonships ship tag in your anti post is childish af.

Elain has spent her time healing, her mind, her heart, her spirit and will. All she has done for Az is become a friend and both developed feelings after a long period of knowing one another.

So to claim she's just a tool to heal Az but she'll be good for Lucien as if being with her will heal all the wounds on his heart from his own family and the loss of his true love.

Fucking bite me.

Sorry you can't accept Elain being unable to stand Lucien being around. She acts like she would rather walk the whole of prythian naked than accept the forced bond with him.

You don't like a ship, fine, but accept the holes in your row boat before turning a glare to the cruise ship minding it's business.

Modernish AU story in my head of Elain and Azriel is my current mental delusion.

They're in like Uni and right now Azriel is sitting on the floor, fiddling with an instrument as a sleepy Elain, dressed in a borrowed sweater is curled up and hiding from the party still happening after having thrown up from one to many break up shots.

They're acquainted prior to learning Rhys and Feyre became an item and he just listens to her soft drunken apologies for the current situation.

Nestling into the bed, eyes flutter open fighting to remain so as she observes his jotting of words and muttering of lyrics.

"Sleep, I'll make sure your laundry is ready when you wake." He would almost hum as he figured out another part to a song in his head.

A half smile on his face, hazel eyes peer up from the page, "Doe eyes that see into the world, rest now the tide has settled. Dum, duh, dum, dum, dum,"

"Duh, duh, dum, I can hear your heart beating, can you hear mine?" The words trail off and sleep pulls her beneath.

He ensures her clothes are cleaned and set on the bed with a towel before making sure everyone has left before he crashes on the couch so she doesn't have to worry about waking up to a guy sleeping in the room she probably wouldn't remember ending up in.

I don't know, I just keep having random flashes of scenes in my head and once again should be asleep instead of dreaming up a silly story.

My dumb brain went, "When in need of escape, Elain approaches Azriel and just holds up her arms and he understands she wants to go."

And then she'd make a game of run jumping cause she knows he'd catch her.

Then my mind pictured it and I cackled at the thought of her going "upsies" to him

Random I can't sleep thoughts, "Does anyone around Elain who wants her to try with Lucien not remember her flat out telling him he betrayed her family? And how she hates the mating bond so harshly that him tugging it just short of gives her the ick?

Like girl sees her sisters and is like, "Go girls! Get your mates." And then someone gestures to Lucien and she goes, "Yeah, no, I don't want a mate. I choose who I give my time and heart to."

"But you're mated, you have a mate and he shouldn't be ignored and deserves your affection."

"*side eyeing them as a shirl scream fills her mind* You see, I don't care. He is held just as accountable for the last few months of horror I endured and no bond is gonna make me see him as anything but someone I very much don't want to be around."

But as a girl born and raised as a lady she has tolerated him around her as her sister's friend, who her sister forgave, not her.

Like I like Lucien as a character but when it comes to Elain I can't stand behind wanting them to try.

Why does she have to play house with someone she didn't want to play house with? Why does Feyre want her to after all this time and why ignore Elain's outright rejection of Lucien and her bond?

I swear I need her book already.

I thought it was a complete series when I committed to the books and then was left Elain and Azriel-less 🥺

Nothing like decluttering and music playing to make you mind go, take a break, sketch for a moment and tossing a pretty picture into your head knowing for certain you won't be able to capture the picture in a sketch but don't want to lose the base of the image so you doodle it anyways.

Why am I so prone to hurting myself before this year ends?!

Severe ankle sprain and smaller one in drawing wrist I'm May, bed rest for 3 months, sick every other month, and now? I hurt my drawing hand's wrist and burnt my other hand helping make Christmas dinner for my family.
