Many monsters were put to slumber through the means of magic, invention, medicine, and leadership. Only a few monsters remained, whether docile or simply deciding not to bother with human kind any longer. There was one monster however, that kept a watchful eye from a distance. Always lurking in the shadows but never truly waking until they were certain of their plans coming to life. They were called the Fey. Beings who were believed to be gone from a dreadful blast of magic that wiped the Fey King and his armies many years ago. Some say they looked akin to humans but glamorized without imperfections. Others say they are simply cursed beings who have no other choice than to follow the pursuit of the wicked ways of their king. Maybe they were good and were simply misunderstood. Though there are many tales with varying descriptions of these elusive beings, one thing is certain: the Fey were not a force to be reckoned with. That fact Alyssa and her sister Kayla knew very well. However, even the most knowledgeable of people cannot prepare for the unexpected. The young inventor wished she knew this before her sister was taken away. The young inventor named Alyssa found a little robot that she could fix and make into her friend, unaware of the soul trapped within it. A Prince who was long forgotten to time awakens once he's been repaired. Excited to have a new friend she takes him onto an adventure to find pieces of his past unaware of the dangerous mission her older sister Kayla decided to go on to stop the curse of the wereshadow.
I wanted to draw Jack Frost if he was in the Witch Hat Aletier universe, it was so much fun!

North protecting the children of Santoff Clausen from Pitch who possesed Bear in the book "Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King" (This scene has been in my mind for a while, it's such a heroic moment I really wanted to draw!)
Sneak peek for book two's animatic ^-^ "Naughty Naughty" pg 63 I kinda imagined him wagging his finger dissapprovingly. I thought it was in the book but it isn't! Lol I still just imagine he does it a lot in his arguments with North though.
Here is some of my progress sketches and outlines for book one's animatic. The first drawing that I did was actually the digital drawing of Katherine and Nightlight. I decided that the outline was a bit too blocky and stiff. So I decided that I needed to actually sketch it in a sketch book. I don't know why but sketching things on a sketch book feels a whole lot easier to get things loosely. I started with thumbnail sketches then redrew them in other pages. I unfortunatly lost the thumbnails but I'll add them if I can find them. It was origionally just going to be just outlined and the characters bucketed in white except for the establishing shot of Katherine and Nightlight meeting each other in the clouds. But when I was given advice to to draw the characters with more lighting for and detail for the shot I really liked it and did it with some of the other shots up in the clouds. Then when my friend saw it she pushed me to do it for all my shots. I was hesitant at first because it was a lot of work and I've been working on this on and off for like two years, and I wasn't even sure on posting it. I'm glad my friends pushed me though, and people where kind enough to volunteer their voices for this project. It certainly never had reached the finish line without them. And thank you to everyone who had watched the animatic, liked it, reposted it, and commented on it. I'll keep on making more. ^-^ Here's the link to the animatic for anyone who hasn't seen it yet:
Guardians of Childhood: Unexpected Flight
This is a fan animatic of one of my favorite scenes from the book series "Guardians of Childhood" by William Joyce. I enjoyed the books, and the movie Rise of the Guardians ever since it came out when I was a kid and really wanted to do something like this ever since!
This is a non-profit video made just for fun under the fair use act. The characters and story belongs to William Joyce, and does not belong to me nor anyone who has helped with this project.
