Time and Night
WHAT AM I GONNA DO IN A SUBMARINE?!
ive spent the past several months working on this little yellow submarine retake project for my portfolio :3 genuinely wrote lore for all of this (which ill probably elaborate on later) BUT the actual character designs are done now..
i loaded this project with references and did so much research for it. i was pretty big into the beatles back in 2019-2020 so i guess it was only natural to return to it :) straight up bought the ys production book to learn more (and will probably buy volume 2 once that youtube paycheck comes in)
i intend to write my design process later, so keep an eye out if you’re interested!
According to Father Time, Dream and his mother used to be close. This might not be true considering Time and Night's rather... skewed opinions of their children (putting it lightly lol) but we do know Dream loves his parents. As Dream said, "A child cannot help but love his [parents]."
When I first saw Night, all I could think about were the stars in her hair and clothes– like the stars in Dream's eyes and in his coat.
I wonder if Dream deliberately made his clothes match his mother's, as a way to show his love for her, even if she does not love him back.
Maybe, deep down, he's just a son who wants to match with his momma.
It makes me very sad.
