Legit feel insane when I see people say Taylor Swift sued Olivia Rodrigo for credits and then not back it up with any proof whatsoever. I saw her fanbase call Taylor her Kanye and that tells me everything I need to know about them. This is a classic Clara Bow situation

Ariana looked so amazing during the Positions - Voice era. I would scroll through her insta religiously. Truly the best she ever looked.

My honest thoughts on Olivia’s new album - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love

(First impression)

1. Drop Dead - 7/10

The chorus and the bridge are really really good. It builds so well and then she fumbles the drop.

2. Stupid Song - 3/10

I really liked the bridge on this one but the rest was forgettable

3. Honeybee - 1/10

As a ballad girl, it was a pain to sit through this song. Boring from start to finish

4. maggots for brains - 8/10

Finally Finally. She should really stick to this and leave the ballads alone. The production is taking it on this one.

5. u + me = 🩷 - 6/10

Sometimes she has excellent chorus melody and the verses are just so eh. Only liked the production and the chorus.

6. my way - 9/10

I really enjoyed this one!! Was Better than Revenge an inspiration for this one? Production and lyrics were eating. I have to give her flowers for this one.

7. purple - 6/10

I finally felt something from her lyrics. Okay it wasn’t big but I felt a hint of sadness.

8. the cure - 4/10

I heard a lot of good things about this one so I was excited to hear it but lmao. I am not a fan of the melody (if there is even one). Her lyrics are always so predictable. The bridge to the end of the song has full production and I wish the whole sound sounded like that. Only having the guitar in the back only pulled more attention to the mid lyrics

9. begged - 3/10

The idea of this song is really interesting but I am not a fan of the execution. The chorus was okay. Wordy lyrics don’t work for me without a catchy melody (I guess I could say that about her whole album)

I loved this start to finish. Wow 👏👏 Olivia ate here kinda.

Literally let out a sigh when I heard the piano 🫩 but BUT I like the lyrics. I just don’t like them together 😂😂

12. expectations - 9/10

Yesss! This is what the people (me) want Olivia! This was a blast. Very well written and produced song.

13. cigarette smoke - 5/10

It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t a great song either. There were parts of it that I liked

Overall thoughts :

The album was pretty boring. The lyrics were mid and clearly reminiscent of other artists. The production was getting repetitive but there were certain songs where it was phenomenal.

After listening to the album the only melody thats stuck in my head is “one night I was bored in bed…”

I might revisit my way and expectations.

I think its a ME problem because I have never really vibed with Olivia’s talk singing or lyrics. That being said, for a third album its a pretty good attempt. This was just my thoughts as I was hearing the album.
