New DC Teaser:

Pearlie as a firefighter is making my TD spidey senses tingle. Here's why:

First here's a link to my resurrection post. The gist is, as Beth and Rick are parallels, we will see a scene parallel to the one where Rick reappears at the end of TWD. Beth will return surrounded by some of the same elements that were in her last scene, just like Rick.

So, when Beth returns she will need to be by or near a medical facility like Grady and there will be some type of emergency vehicle, perhaps another fire engine, nearby.

Pearlie with the the fireman's hat and the ax are giving me those vibes.

The numbers on his hat, the 781, could be a reference to season 7 episode 8 from the 1st Walking Dead show. In that episode, we see Daryl escape from The Sanctuary with the help of Jesus. He then reunites first with Maggie, then with Rick.

Coincidence? Gimple doesn't allow those.

I think that this is a universe easter egg. This is where we are headed. Beth, as the resurrected figure, will take Jesus' place in the story.

Had to edit to add the insane license plate connections. 781 is on the plate of the Grady car followed by Daryl and Carol in Consumed.

The reverse is on the car Carol and Daryl use.

Why Beth Must Return At A Specific Location Using A Specific Mode Of Transport.

We often look at small things in our analysis. We should. Gimple has stated that he does include things for viewers to pick up on but that sometimes he chooses to use them in the future and sometimes he doesn't. So, using microanalysis can be difficult in prediction because we never know WHICH things he will pick up to fulfil.

However, the big templates and patterns are more reliable predictors of future story because they are much harder for Gimple to leave unfulfilled while telling the epic story of The Walking Dead Universe.

One of the first, most obvious, and most important templates is the resurrection story of Jesus.

I realized that Gimple used the template of Jesus' resurrection as pattern for Rick's story. Beth's story has already followed some of the first steps of this template. Analyzing the template will lead us to some elements that MUST be part of Beth's return in order to satisfy the template.

Let's take a quick look by starting with Jesus himself.

Jesus is taken off the cross by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. His body is quickly, due to it being only hours before Shabbat when no work could be done, washed, rubbed with spices and wrapped in linen. A large stone is rolled into place to secure the tomb.

All of his family and followers thought he had died. The disciples were scattered and in hiding.

Early Sunday morning, two Marys return to the tomb finding the stone rolled away and the body gone. The linen or "grave clothes" are still there, but no body. An angel which means "messenger" tells them Jesus has been raised from the dead. The angel tells the Marys to go tell the disciples Jesus has risen and will meet them in Galilee like Jesus had told them. He was crucified in Jerusalem. The gospel of John records that later Mary actually sees Jesus in the garden near his tomb but at first does not recognize him. He has to call her name before she believes it's really him. She is the first to see him after the resurrection. According to 1st century sources, Jesus later appears to over 500 followers, including his disciples and family, in Galliee.

So, the key elements are:

Everyone believes him dead.

2. His death scatters his family.

3. His body is not where it should be/where it was left.

4. There is an object that indicates he might not be dead.

5. There is a messenger who claims he is alive.

6. He is first seen in a similar setting to where he was last seen.

7. The first to see his reapperarnce doesn't recognize him at first.

8. He does not reunite with his entire family/friends in the same location he died or where he first reappears.

Let's apply this to Rick and Beth:

Everyone believes them dead. Rick: CHECK I have always maintained that the bridge blowing up with the blood he already lost should have been fatal. The GA would have believed he was dead just as much as they believe Beth is if they didn't show us what happened to his body. Beth: CHECK- I need say no more about that!

2. The death scatters the family.

Rick: CHECK. After the time jump, we see how Michonne, Daryl, Carol, and Maggie are all living in different locations and are in infrequent contact, at best.

Beth: CHECK- Her death leads them to Virginia and within weeks TF is already separated with Maggie at Hilltop and Carol around The Kingdom.

3. The body is not where it should be.

Rick: CHECK. We see Michonne and Daryl, then just Daryl, search all along the river where it should be.

Beth: CHECK- As seen in 5x09 with Maggie crying by the open door, TD has always speculated that Beth was left in a car, but had disappeared when they returned to bury her. At the very least, we SHOULD have seen Beth buried. That's a very important ritual for TF. Her body is NOT where it should be even in the narrative we saw.

4. There is an object(s) that indicates they might not be dead.

Rick: CHECK. Michonne finds his boots and the "I-phone picture" on the boat with Virgil.

Beth: FUTURE. There will be object that indicates Beth might be alive. Maggie first gets the musicbox, the symbol of Beth's survival, in 5x10. As we are in the rectification or reversal replay, I think Maggie will be the first to see some piece of evidence of her survival. Will it be something discovered by the Dama and her traders? Will it by Annie bringing something from her travels? Perhaps it will be shown to Negan first, and he brings it to Maggie? However it happens, I believe Maggie will get evidence of her survival. Daryl may get evidence as well. Beth's resurrection is key to both their arcs, so this template may play out in both spin-offs.

5. There is a messenger who claims they are alive.

Rick: CHECK Jadis does this when she finds Rick by the river. She announces it to the CRM via the walkie. Then, Michonne announces what she has found, and her belief he is alive through her walkie to Judith.

Beth: POSSIBLE CHECK AND FUTURE CHECK Like with Rick and Jadis, I believe Morgan might eventually be considered the first to proclaim Beth's survival, not in words, but in the objects he placed on on the alter in Gabriel's church. Codron, with the same prophet look of Morgan in Season 5, is returning in DD4. I believe he will be the messenger who connects Beth and Daryl and the story of her survival in some way.

6. Their reappearance occurs in a similar setting where they were last seen.

Rick: CHECK- In Rick's case it is by a river with a helicopter overhead waiting to take him away. This how the audience last sees him in 9x6 and how they first see him again in the Coda of 11x24. So, his location is by a river and mode of transportation is a helicopter.

Beth: FUTURE With Rick's reappearance taking place in a shot with almost identical elements to ones in his last scene, I believe Beth's reappearance as to be a mirror to this last scene of Coda.

So, she HAS to appear around a hospital or medical center of some kind. According to filming spoilers and pictures, where does Daryl end up? At a hospital on the base in Cadiz.

I believe Beth will need to reappear around an emergency vehicle of some kind just like the fire truck was in the last shot with her body. This is the vehicle, like the helicopter for Rick, that carried her body away. It may not be a fire truck, but perhaps an makeshift ambulance/emergency vehicle of some kind.

Interestingly, pins were worn by MMB and NR on the last day of (known) filming, pins of TWO vehicles, one red and one green. You will notice that the pins are two different types of vehicles. The car/truck/emergency vehicle is Beth's transport symbol.

We know Daryl and Codron were seen riding around in the GREEN one, but no one saw a red one during filming. Ambulances are known for being RED like the Spanish one seen above. In DD 3x1, when they play eye spy, what does Daryl see? Something red! There was TONS of red symbolism and references in DD3. I have written about it before.

So, does Beth HAVE to show in DD4? Not necessarily. We might first see her with her vehicle and medical facility in a Coda to Dead City 3 just like we saw Rick in the Coda to 11x22.

7. The loved one doesn't recognize him at first.

Rick: CHECK- Michonne almost kills Rick before she recognizes him. Rick doesn't recognize her until the mask comes off.

Beth: FUTURE - I believe Daryl will be so injured that he thinks she is a hallucination at first. I believe that Daryl WILL be the first character to see her alive. That fits with the Dwight/Sherry and Rick/Michonne reunions. He brought her body out of Grady, and he will bring her body back to TF.

8. He does not reunite with his entire family in the same location he is first seen.

Rick: CHECK Rick and Michonne reunite in/around Philadelphia, but the rest of the family is not there.

Beth: FUTURE I believe Daryl will see here somewhere in Spain/France. She won't reunite with Maggie until later.

This theory confirmed for me that Beth can NOT appear anywhere at anytime. There MUST be these elements in order to fit the resurrection template.

Lucky for us that all the pieces seem to be in a place in a way they NEVER were before for her reappearance.

As we have seen in the Daryl Dixson spin-off, the license plates have been timeline markers showing where the characters are/are going in the near future. Take a look at the plate in Daryl's flashback.

I have a couple of theories on this. In hindsight, I am sure that it will obvious just as the others have been, but it's fun to try to figure out where they are headed.

This is a tricky one because it is part of a flashback, so it could be more of an indicator of where Daryl is in the flashback more than where he is going.

According to rumors and spoilers, the flashback is going to reveal something that Daryl has misremembered up until now. We could go down a whole rabbit hole about misremembering and how that is coming to the forefront in both Daryl and Maggie's arcs.

Daryl and Maggie are really the characters going through the greatest emotional arcs in the spin-offs. It's very interesting that both of them are addressing not remembering things as they truly were. This is one of the small things that leads us to believe that there was a misremembering of what happened after Daryl walks out with Beth's body in Coda. Greg Nicotera once said that 5x9 picks up 17 days after what happened at Grady in Atlanta. We get brief flashes at the beginning of 5x9 as to what may have happened but it almost has a dream- like quality. Most recently in dead City season 2, Maggie was clearly missing part and misremembering part of the"lightning bug" story according to Hershel.

It's well known in psychology that trauma will cause a person to not remember the events around the trauma accurately.

I think for both Maggie and Daryl this will turn out to be true. So the story Daryl tells Carl in season 3, was not a lie, and it won't be a retconned. It will be a case of Daryl finally working through his trauma in order to face the reality of what really happened. The reality that he's been running from his entire life.

Going back to this plate, it's on a station wagon. This to me indicates that we're supposed to read that this is about family as the station wagon is the quintessential family vehicle.

It's also at a "dutch angle" hanging off the car. That shows that there is something "off" or not "right" about this family/story.

The B is reminiscent of the A/B symbolism explained in The Ones Who Live. As a child, Daryl was most definitely a B. He followed. He was led by Merle before the turn.

The 11x7 I believe refers to Daryl's relationship with his father. In 11x7 we see Leah calling Pope a father figure. I believe this shows that Daryl's father was a controlling, manipulative man just like Pope who used his "family" to fulfill his own needs. He is willing to kill his family members if they betray him, just like he was going to let Leah burn in the building with Daryl.

In 3x9 The Suicide King, Daryl makes the wrong choice and falls back to his "B" status by following Merle. He will quickly rectify it in the next episode. Another point in the episode is that Rick is deep in his trauma over Lori and makes bad decisions as a result. This may indicate that the trauma we are about to witness through Daryl's eyes, has caused him to run and make bad decisions his entire life. Finally, Glen is VERY angry that they didn't go back and kill the Governor. If they would have killed him then, it would have saved lives. Perhaps that is the connection running from Daryl's father, to Dawn, to Captain Perkins.

A spoiler / rumor states that at the end of Daryl Dixon season 4, Daryl will kill Captain Perkins played by Jimmy Smits. As he pulls the trigger he flashes back to himself as a child holding a gun on his father.

This will cement him as an A. It's rumor ed that after saving the ship and killing the Captain, Daryl drives toward the military hospital and soldiers salute him along the way. What better way to show his A status?

I believe that as a boy Daryl could have killed his father and in some way saved his mother. However, because he was a B(boy), he didn't kill the evil and it took someone he loved.

This will be one of his final test on this hero's journey. He will take what he has learned in this spin-off and make a different choice. This is his final step towards letting go of his childhood trauma so that he can go on to have a healthy family of his own.

I was going to make further comparison to this and the killing the suitors in The Odyssey, but I think I'll save that for another post.

He is one of my favorite all-time characters on the show, but I don't recall ever seeing an article commemorating his death anniversary, ever.

Beth is briefly mentioned.

Which is all well and good, but here's the kicker.

When describing Tyreese's death hallucinations they say:

"He begins to interact with visions of people from his past. Some dead, some lost, and some enemies."

Yes, some were enemies like The Governor and Martin, but who are they referring to as LOST?

All of the people in Tyrese's hallucination were "dead":

Lizzie-dead and buried

Mica-dead and buried

Bob-dead and buried

The Govenor-dead enemy

Martin(the termite)-dead enemy

and

BETH-LOST?

More prep work for Beth's return!

Let's take a look at some more pix that were taken as DC was filming. Thanks to @obidala2 for collecting some of these postings!

I won't be going into any really detailed theories here. I just wanted to put all of these together for reference and to hopefully spark some TD connections. I wrote part 1 of this here.

In December, what I believe to be the first of these AU scenes were captured. This filming occurred in the Boston area.

The first image is an AU set of what looks like a club called Fram. Notice the Christmas decorations, the GREEN awning and the yellow cab outside.

Beth with her guitar will surely be playing at this club in Maggie's dream/hallucination. I would assume that the song she sings will be on her new TWD album.

This makes me wonder why Emily was planning on releasing the album at the end of last year.

Were they planning on showing something at the end of DD3 and decided not to ?

Was there a teaser/trailer planned for DC 3 that was pulled for some reason?

The fact that we have no confirmation of when either show is going to air, no teasers, and no trailers from EITHER show is very odd. AMC seems to be carefully planning just how to handle the ends of these spin-offs.

Below is a picture of JDM, Logan Kim, and either a new character or crew member outside what looks like a sound stage version of the Fram set. JDM has on the same outfit he does in the NYC scenes, so we know that this part of Maggie's dream/hallucination. Everyone is looking clean and handsome! Definitely not the apocalypse.

Below seems to be the same location in the apocalypse. Maggie, without Negan, is entering. Please notice the BIG YELLOW door. We will come back to that. The BLUE awning in this shot features beer and cocktails.

This makes me wonder if there will be some sort of toxin, like DD2 and the bat guano, that causes Maggie to hallucinate in this club.

Many TWD characters have had hallucinations before significant turning points. I believe this is Maggie's first hallucination/dream. So, it must be a HUGE turning point for her.

Her entering through the big yellow door symbolizes to me that there is a reunion of some kind on the other side. Many see the yellow as a resurrection symbol and that works too as a resurrection is a type of reunion.

The awning could be another beer/bear/Sirius/Morning Star symbol, and the alcohol is another call back to Still.

The name itself FRAM is just a letter switch away from FARM.

It's interesting that in her dream/hallucination the awning turns from blue to green. 💚

This might represent her returning to the Maggie from the Greene farm as part of her hallucination.

For TDers, it's VERY interesting that we see, aside from Beth, Negan, Hershel Jr., and possibly a new character as part of this hallucination/dream. ALL of those characters are ALIVE in the TWD universe.

Notice that Herschel Sr is mentioned as dead and a "divorced" husband. They could have done an AI generated scene with Scott Wilson or a flashback. Maybe they will, we will just have to wait and see.

It might suggest, at least at this point, that Maggie at this point might believe that Beth could possibly be alive.

Below are a couple more of the NYC scenes.

The Statue of Liberty behind Beth and Maggie during their reunion I am sure is symbolic.

The French gave us the statue, so that's a DD connection.

Maybe both of them will be "liberated" in some way?

Maggie from her grief and Beth from the "dead" or from a group she is with.

Maggie and Negan getting hot dogs has tons of connections to DD with the can of "celebration" hot dogs Carol has to the menu pix leaked from the military base in DD4. Most TDers will immediately pick up on the Sirius "dog star" returning character symbolism.

Finally, it seems that a crew member has confirmed a DC season 4.

Will Beth and maybe Daryl be part of the season?

Time will tell, but it all seems to be lining up.

The BETHesda Connection: How the DC3 Photos are Connected to Daryl Dixson and Beth's Return

I am going to try to put together what we know about this dream/hallucination sequence and what it might mean for the overall narrative.

I am absolutely THRILLED that we are for sure, 100%, going to see new Beth Greene material!

The filming in NYC last week is for episode 6.

This was filmed in the open, so we KNOW that AMC WANTS everyone to know that this dream/hallucination sequence is happening.

Why? It's great free publicity.

However, they could have done that with just the Neggie scenes.

Why include Beth?

Because they want to get the GA remembering and talking about her with the deniability of a dream sequence.

By doing this, they still get the surprise value when she is revealed alive but are getting all the "returning character" publicity now.

Win-win for them.

Also consider that they could now have Beth in a teaser for DD4 if they want. The GA will assume it is a hallucination/dream sequence just like DC3.

Why have a guitar on Beth's back in this scene?

Beth never played guitar that we saw except in Tyreese's hallucination. Why include it in this reunion scene?

Maybe so that we connect it to DD2x6, where Daryl finds a guitar in trunk and gives it to Laurent?

Maybe so that we connect it to the girl, and her story, in DD3x6 who sings and plays the guitar?

Where was the Beth/Maggie scene filmed?

BETHesda Terrace. @bethiscomingsoon did a post here about it. In my response, I made connections that show the spin-offs were always planned to be where the Beth narrative continued or where she would return and become part of the TF narrative again.

Bethesda was an interesting choice because the "Acheron" episodes. To refresh your memory:

The "Acheron" episodes were a template for the whole Dead City spinoff not to mention that it leads to Daryl first seeingLeah again, after years apart, looking like Beth.

They also made a shout out to "Beth" in TOWL. Remember Michonne's fake, but not so fake, name? Dana BETHune.

It's a clear clue that the "Beth" narrative has been part of the plan for the spin-offs from the beginning.

In the US if you say, "Bethesda" most everyone would know you are talking about Bethesda, Maryland and the Navy base there.

Bethesda, Maryland is about 7 miles from Washington D.C. Remember Beth's DC spoon?

What if her journey has caused her to be relatively close to TF geographically this whole time?

It would explain a lot of the close but hidden symbolism we have seen.

It's about 25 miles between Alexandria, Virginia and Bethesda, Maryland.

Now let's connect Bethesda to DD4.

Bethesda is known for its MEDICAL Center.

Could they be the ones who Dawn thought would rescue them?

As one of top medical facilities, surely, they would have been trying to find a cure for the virus. (Bite/Cure Theory)

Could Beth have been there and maybe even received advanced medical training there?

Possibly. Is it possible that the CRM went to the Bethesda facility and supported their research making them, and possibly Beth, a part of the CR?

What about the origins of the Daryl Dixson spin-off? The ship going across the Atlantic? The doctor? Genet's paramilitary? The experiments?

Was that all a foreshadow of the story that would lead to Beth's reemergence and Daryl's happy ending?

We know in DD4 that Daryl ends up at the American military base in Cadiz, Spain because he is injured and needs medical treatment. What type of base is this?

A NAVY base. Just like Bethesda, MD.

Could it be possible that the ship Daryl saves from being blown up came from Bethesda, MD? Could it have gone to Spain to take the remaining servicemen home?

Maybe. It would explain how Beth gets to Spain, and it would explain how Daryl and whomever ends up with him at the end of series will make it home for that reunion show!

This post is already getting long. So, I'll do Part 2 that will have what we know about the sequence itself and what Lauren and JDM are saying about the season!

It's a call back to 2x7 "Pretty Much Dead Already" when Sophia comes out of the barn. More proof that they place numbers intentionally, and they want us to figure out the connections.

AMC Just Connected Daryl's Tape Recorder, "Diverged", and The Military Storyline. Thanks, AMC!

😲 FINALLY!

This seems to be our first official hint from AMC, imo. Thanks to @obidala2 for pointing out this post. Thanks also to @atrumreginablue for tagging me on this post about Norman's recent Instagram posts that reminded so much of Diverged!

I theorized here that the tape recorder might lead Beth to Daryl, and here AMC is reminding us of the recording and telling us that it is going to be important!!!

I also theorized in that post that Codron may be our "Noah" connecting Daryl and Beth's paths and guess who is back ??

So, this post by AMC could mean that some of the things we have theorized might finally coming together.

Notice the emoji at the top is saluting?

Who salutes?

THE MILITARY. So, AMC is connecting the military base storyline in DD4 to the words Daryl spoke into the recorder in DD1x1.

If the recorder does end up in the hands of this group, why would they care about a random American in a recording that could have been made at any point?

Unless someone who hears it KNOWS Daryl Dixson........

When Norman said in an interview that the spin-off was always going to end "in a very specific way", many didn't believe it.

While I do think they planned on more seasons of the spin-off, the ending was always going to be Daryl's "happy ending" with Beth.

What was presented in the most boring episode of TWD ever............. Diverged................... clearly shows that this military arc was being planned when the extra episodes for season 10 were written.

Let's take a look at it again with some hindsight and try to predict how the spin-off will end.

In season 10's Diverged, which I am now seeing as an allegory for all the whole spin-off, the bulk of the episode, at least for Daryl, is him trying to fix his motorcycle to make it back home.

Back in 2023, we had no idea what direction the spin-off might take. However, some of our theories have been correct while others have missed the mark mostly due to the assumption that the spin-offs would have more connection. You can read the 2023 post I sent to @twdmusicboxmystery here.

I believe we were correct on most of the basic symbolism presented in the episode.

The knife=love interests.

The bike =Daryl/his journey/his life

The rat in the walls= Something in the subconscious/mind troubling the person.

The railroad tracks=A crossroad in life.

The hose and correct knife are what Daryl needs to fix his bike/life.

Let's take a quick look at some of the elements in Diverged again.

The beginning of the episode parallels the end and coda of season 11. 

First, Daryl gives Carol Leah’s knife so that she can get water out of her canteen.

This is symbolic of Daryl's working with Maggie and killing Leah. He uses Leah to help Maggie, eventually killing her for Maggie. Here, in season 10, he "gives up" Leah via her knife to help Carol.

Then, Carol asks him to come home with her, but he says he wants to keep looking for a while. 

This foreshadows Daryl wanting to keep looking for "something" in the coda for season 11. 

When the path diverges, Dog goes with Carol even though he obviously misses Daryl. Dog looks back and whines but seems to know he can’t follow Daryl.  Just like Judith in the coda. At the time, I thought Dog must be symbolic for Judith.

I think I was right and that taking care of Judith in the Commonwealth, a little girl around Sophia:s age, is part of what stirred up and brought Carol's guilt about Sophia scratching at the walls of Carol's mind.

DD2 and DD3 have clearly shown us that even though Carol was staying in Daryl's house(his spin-off) the walls were Carol's mind and the rat symbolized her guilt over Sophia. At the time I thought the rat might be Rick, but now it's clear that it was symbolizing Carol's guilt over Sophia.

Carol picks up the scarf and throughout the episode contemplates trying to fix it but ultimately decides not to, even though someone obviously once loved it.

At the time, I thought this may symbolize the Hilltop because of DD2. Now, I see that scarf represents the past. At the end of the episode, Carol realizes you can't fix the past(scarf) you just need to let go of it and move on. So, she throws the scarf in the trash.

 Next, Carol goes into Daryl’s house.  She picks up a book Daryl is reading about pirates.

I was right in my predication that Daryl would be "pirated" away on a ship.

Initially, I thought Jerry symbolized Ezekiel who would help Carol move on. Now it is clear that it is Antonio who will finally help Carol move on and laugh again. As the rat is leaving at the end of the episode, Carol and Jerry laugh together.

The writers even helped us with this one in DDS3 by having Carol state directly to Antonio that he reminds her of her friend, Jerry!

Now, to the Daryl/DD/Beth part!

Daryl rides off away from Carol like he does in the TWD Coda, and his bike breaks down just like it does in Maine.

The bike clearly symbolizes Daryl himself and his journey.

There is a hole in the hose on the bike.  There is a hole in Daryl’s life. He must fix the metaphorical hole to continue on his life journey and find his way back home. Fixing the bike symbolizes fixing his life and getting his happy ending as stated multiple times at the beginning of the spin-off.

First, he walks for a while and finds some cars. I believe the cars represent the first two seasons in France.

Car #1 There is nothing there to help him fix the hole.

Car #2 is a place where walkers almost kill him, but he gets part of what he needs. Just as I originally speculated, Laurent is the hose, which is part of what he needs. It's in season two that Daryl becomes Laurent's father.

However, the hose or “child” alone will not fix the bike/Daryl. In fact. the knife(Isabelle) he uses to try to put the hose on the bike doesn't work. Symbolically, Isabelle as a love interest would not work out.

Next, Daryl goes back to the bike and has to walk/push it to the train tracks(where his path diverged from Beth in Alone). 

He sees some walkers(one looks like Beth). Then, for some strange reason, he starts to limp. I wonder if that is mirroring Beth’s limp in Alone, or it could represent him being hurt as reported in DDS4 spoilers before he is taken in by the military group.

He then comes across a military walker in a tree(aka trunk of the tree).

Perhaps there will be a connection between the CRM/military group and how Beth survived after being left in the trunk.

On the military walker, he finds ammo, food, and THE KNIFE(Beth) HE NEEDS TO FIX HIS BIKE(LIFE). 

I had more analysis on how he would have to fight this group multiple times because the military walkers come back in Diverged. I also theorized that putting the hose on the bike with the knife would take some time before he could ride the bike back home because Daryl needed all night to fix the bike, even with the hose and the knife, in Diverged.

Those elements may not come into play because, as Norman admitted, they were NOT initially expecting the spin-off to end with season 4!

However, Daryl finds the knife/Beth in his FIRST encounter with the military, and he can't fix his life/bike without it!

What do we hear as Daryl is fixing his bike/life with the knife/Beth he found on the military walker? A wolf howling! A clear call back to "Up the Wolves" from Still.

What can we take from this?

I think it is another confirmation that Beth will indeed be with this military group and that the combination of Laurent and Beth are his happy ending. The recorder will be back in play, and it will be connected to the military group.

I should also point out that Diverged ends with Daryl and Carol going into separate houses to "hit the sack" or go to bed. I think this clearly symbolizes they will be going to bed but not with each other!

It also indicates that they will end the spin-off in separate locations because at the end of Diverged, they go into separate houses.

Does this mean they will be separated forever? Not necessarily. I could see them bringing Carol back at surprising point during a reunion series sort like at Terminus.

No, I hadn't seen these! I've been crazy busy, so I am a little out of the loop.

I do have some thoughts about these posts. (Don't I always?)

First, I would acknowledge that they could be totally random. All signs point to Norman having ADD (like me!).

So, yeah, we can be totally random jumping from one thought to the next without any clear connection to anything other than random thoughts in our overactive minds!

HOWEVER, these posts all have TWD connections, so if Norman is actually trying to say something TWD related with these, here are the connections I see.

Pic 1: Camel Rock Studios is in New Mexico. Yes, Norman was there for an episode or two of Ride this past season, but it is also where Carol and Daryl talked about running to in season 10 of the flagship.

Decoded: New Mexico represents the "running away" he and Carol have done in the past.

Pic 2: A new Daryl figure not available until 2027!

Decoded: By 2027 Daryl will be a new man. He will have his wings again and have a more cleaned up mature look!

Pic 3: Emphasizes the wings with what looks like a season 4 or 5 picture of Daryl. His "angel" in those seasons was definitely Beth!

Decoded: The "new" Daryl will be tied to season 4 and 5 Daryl and his angel.

Pic 4: Art studio(I believe Norman is posing for this artist in Paris with a just a sheet on and a cigarette)

Decoded: His "angel" was an artist. (Daryl will hit the "sheets" with her. A stretch, I know, but why not? I like the idea!)

Pic 5: Warren Ellis is a comic book writer, so another artist/writer.

Decoded: This is how the "writer" will do it.

Pics 6 and 7: The marionette walkers from DD 3x6.

Decoded: The "Spanish King" storyline will lead to........

Pic 8: It looks an artist rendering of when Rick and Daryl first meet Jesus. Remember the supply truck, and Daryl looking for the Orange Soda for Denise to give to Tara?

Decoded: Daryl meeting "Jesus" aka a resurrected figure.

Pic 9: "Mustard" is yellow.

Decoded: It will be the resurrected figure who is known for wearing Mustard/Yellow.

Decoded: Daryl will FINALLY find a home with her!

Did Scott Gimple Just Tell Us When Our Green(e) Day Will Happen?

On the LAST day of filming for DDS4, Gimple made a rare post on Instagram.

Yes, I know that they have stopped minting the penny, but that happened the week BEFORE he posted this on, again, the LAST day of DD4 filming.

So, if he is being cryptic, he would have picked the 2019 on purpose. If 2019 is an episode code, here are some of the ways we could look at it:

Looking backward, 2x10 (2+0, 1+9)was the Beth suicide episode that Gimple wrote.

Looking forward, if we add all the numbers, it would be 12. Episode 12 of the Spain arc will be 4x5. I wrote about Zabel saying he planned both the France and Spain stories in 12 episode arcs. After the Spain arc in episode 5, is it time for the Green(e)!Day arc? Maybe.

This coincides with the spoiler that Daryl is taken to the military hospital. Norman posted pics of on Instagram of himself in his hospital gown, that's happening.

Another way we could decifer this would be 2 plus 19 equals 21. Episode 21 of the spin-off would be 4x2. The episode Zabel has told us will include Codron's journey. I have thought since season 1 that Codron would, in some way, be involved in Beth's return. I would love it if Beth was revealed as part of Codron's journey. Perhaps she was looking for Daryl and Carol in France.

A couple of other connections are Lincoln, who is on the penny, was shot in the head, and the US Mint, where the penny was made, is in Philadelphia (Civic Republic). I'm sure there are many other connections we could make.

How many coincidences until it's not a coincidence at all?

It seems like Emily deleted her "I cried when you died" Instagram post and I'm not sure what to think about it. Everyone thought it was for her album right?

Hi,

I'm not sure if she deleted it or if the story timed out. This summer she shared, I think it was a VEEPS concert, that she was releasing, sometime before the end of the year, an album of songs she sang on TWD plus one new song. That was actually one of the reasons that I thought they might reveal Beth in a post credits scene at the end of DDS3. Since the summer, she hasn't said anything more about that album. So, perhaps she will postpone the release until after Beth is revealed to be alive somewhere in TWDU. Marketing wise, that would be the smart thing to do.

In the last week or so, Emily did post about being back in the studio, but that was for an album of new music.

We did think, "I cried when you died" was most probably going to be the title of her TWD album because she said in the past that her band mates use to keep track of how many fans would come up to her and say just that phrase!
