Hey everyone! I'm still planning to make and sell booksafes in the new year, but before I do that I want to clear out some old stock. And what better time to do that than in the post-holiday hangover? That's why from now until New Years' Day, all orders of X books will be discounted by X dollars.

(i.e., if you order 1 book you'll get $1 off, 2 books will get you $2 off, etc.)

the booksafe sale will continue on into the new year! in the near future i hope to get an etsy page set up for my work. all placed orders have been shipped out, save for one - there's been a minor ice storm in my area which has made it difficult to reach the post office, but this is slated to pass in the next few days. happy holidays!

first of all i purchased this FINE FINE BOOKSAFE from my pal zeiss over at this blog right here (WHERE YOU CAN PURCHASE YOUR OWN!!!!). look at how fantastic this cover is. look at those joyous clipart skeletons bursting out of that closet. they have places to be and that place is not that closet.

look at that. look at this. im hiding my money in this. people will be too scared to open a cover with THREE WHOLE SKELETONS on it. my money will be safe from everyone. even me. especially me.

private commissions

i've just had someone ask about private commissions (wherein one would send in a book to be made into a booksafe) and for the time being, i believe that as long as the book isn't War & Peace-sized, $10 + shipping is a fair price. if you want one as part of a gift project, please ask soon!

looking for a cool and unique gift this holiday season? i’ve been making booksafes/hollow books for some time as a hobby now, and since the local event i usually sell them at failed to materialize this year i’m gonna offer them to you, the internet. these regularly go for at least $40 on etsy so you lucky followers are in for a bargain!

the majority of the books i use are discarded, yet intact, hardcovers from the local campus + used bookstore. the prices listed for this sale do not cover requests to make hollow books out of specific titles (please e-mail me separately if you are interested in a private commission). if you intend to purchase a book to house a specific object, please include its dimensions with your order.

this time around i’ve changed things somewhat - while i’m still offering two size tiers, the books are now priced individually. you can view the books i’m offering with their catalogue number (include with your email in case you have your eye on a specific book) and price: go here for the small books and here for the larger ones. the prices listed do not include shipping. i’ll be giving priority to orders within the continental US, but other than that, books are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
