Someone Else's Shoes - Jojo Moyes : This book screamed girlpower... I love her books where there is actual plot next to the romantic plot!

❤️ Cemetery Boys - Aiden Thomas - A queer story around Dias de los muertos in Los Angelos featuring a love story between Yadriel (love that name btw) and Julian and also a ghosts! 👻 Lovely to reread when Halloween comes around!

💛 Not Your Sidekick - C. B. Lee - This book was on my goodreads tbr shelf since 2019 and I finally bought it (to avoid shipping cost for another thing) and I really really enjoyed it! Not sure if I will read the next two books in the series (different characters in the same plot) but I might...

💜 Lights - Brenna Thummler : The last graphic novel in the Sheets series... just stunning and this cover is my fav because of all the purple :-D

Currently reading Heartstopper V5 so expect me to fangirl about it next month ;)

Ik kan je redden - Sofie Delporte - A thriller about a detective in the Missing Person's Unit looking for a woman... it had lot's of insider's information on this unit that has always fascinated me...

❤️Majesty - Katherine McGee (American Royals #2) The story of Beatrice, Samantha, Nina and Daphne continues... drama guaranteed.

Old Babes In The Wood : Stories - Margaret Atwood Short stories by one of my fave authors... some were good, some were not my taste...

Hide And Seek - M.J. Arlidge Helen Grace goes to prison and of course there is a serial killer :)

❤️Welcome To Ferry Lane Market - Nicola May A light romcom about life in a small village at sea... Kara Moon dumps her boyfriend and start renting her appartment on AirBnB... meeting many interesting peopel (men) :D

❤️Pumpkinheads - Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks Rereading this for pumpkin october :D

❤️Out of My Mind - Sharon M. Draper An important story about the importance of having a voice... and being excluded. I recognized some feelings from this book...

Love Me Not - M.J. Arlidge Two shooters are wreaking havoc in Southampton... taking place in only 24 hours this was the most sharp Helen Grace thriller I've read yet...

The Reading List - Sara Nisha Adams A book about love for reading, books and libraries... did and did not meet my expectations at the same time... still worth reading!

Rosie's Travelling Tea Shop - Rebecca Raisin A hearty and light romcom story inside the modern nomad community... Rosie starts a new beginning with her tea shop/pink bus and meets new friends and new love :)

Little Boy Blue - M.J. Arlidge A look into the world of SM but still exciting to read anyways...

❤️How To Kill Your Family - Bella Mackie Snatched this up at the library when it was just put on the 'New Collection' table... A thriller about a girl that wants to kill her family... A refreshing and funny book in this genre.

❤️I Kissed Shara Wheeler - Casey McQuiston A YA lesbian detective/thriller about three teenagers searching for a girl (and kind of becoming friends meanwhile).

The Doll’s House - M.J. Arlidge : Helen Grace does it again!

🥰 Children of The Quicksands - Efua Traore : a children’s book that won a lot of prizes and I really liked this one! I really enjoyed learning more about the culture and mythology of Nigeria. Also the cover *heart eyes*

🥰 Last Chance Books - Kelsey Rodkey - An enemies to lovers love story mixed with the bookshop world?! HELL YEAH

Liar Liar - M. J. Arlidge : yes I am crazy about this series, finished this book in one fucking day O.o it was a sunny cosy and quiet day, perfect for finishing a book in one sitting.

Boo - Neil Smith : picked this one up at the local library sale, the book cover stood out to me... a thirteen year old boy, Boo, is looking for his murderer in heaven... might be YA but I don’t know... heavy themes like murder and suicide... I included the dutch cover under here too because it is too pretty!

Sinds ik niet meer drink - Evi Hanssen : got this one from the local  library sale... it is a weird book for me to read since I don’t drink  alcohol... but I enjoyed it anyways, there were some struggles that I recognized... Evi writes really well!

🥰 I Am Glad My Mom Died - Jennette McCurdy : biography by Jennette herself, in which she talks about her life as a child actor (Sam in iCarly tv series), her mother’s abuse and her eating disorders. I wasn’t invested in iCarly as a child (saw some parts on tv but never a full episode) but Jennette is a good storyteller and I got suck in by the behind the screen stories in Hollywood... what a world...

Pop Goes The Weasel - M.J. Arlidge : the third Helen Grace book in the series...

The Kite Runner (Graphic Novel) - Khaled Hosseini : I tried to read this book some ten years ago but couldn’t push through the first hundred pages. This graphic novel did the trick and I really liked this one (both story and visuals)

🥰 Solitaire - Alice Oseman : a book about the older sister of Charlie Spring (protagonist of Heartstopper series): Tori Spring. It took some getting used to that is book finds place AFTER Heartstopper, but I really enjoyed this one!

Het had waar kunnen zijn - Tim Verheyden : a nonfiction book in which a journalist looks for the origins and impact of  fake news during the Trump presidency and the corona virus. Was an interesting look into how it all works...

🥰 Duizend & Ik - Yorick Goldewijk : a smal novella (174 pages) for teenagers and young adults, this is a dystopian future story about Eight. Read it in one day and was really fun and surprising.

APRIL 2023 WRAP UP

I realized as I was putting this Wrap Up together I only read dutch books this month... which I normally don’t ready many of them... O.o

Enigma : Het geheim van de Kraken - Guido Eekhaut : a YA book I was a bit hesitant about. It was good, but did not really ‘wow’ me in the end...

Dagen van zand - Aimée De Jongh : graphic novel about a young photographer that gets send on a photo mission to the Dust Belt in the USA... it is beautiful drawn and tells three stories in one...

❤️ Mot en de metaalvissers - Sanne Rooseboom + Sophie Pluim : A girl called Mot lives in a wonderful world/city where everything is rusty and submarines are as normal as trains and cars. A children’s book that surely will become a classic for all ages, with also such beautiful drawings

112 verhalen met over en op spoed - Stef Vanlee : A nonfiction book about a nurse doing his job at the hospital and all the adventures he had and people he met... really loved reading this, also because of the short chapters.

Wrap Up March 2023

❤️ As Good As Dead - Holly Jackson (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #3) : yup, the third book and just as good as the other two! Couldn’t stop reading till the last page!

Queenie - Candice Carty-Williams : didn’t plan beforehand to take this with me from the library but stumbled upon it and gave it a try... this was a really nice read :)

❤️ Revenge of the Librarians - Tom Gauld : I immediately fell in love with this bookish cartoon book! Also the cover is so pretty with the red and gold! An absolute must have for book and library lovers and librarians!

Sapiens: A Graphic History V1 - Yuval Noah Harari : I tried the book years ago but gave up on it, but this graphic novel really works! It reads easily and the graphics and drawings are really fun!

Take A Hint, Dani Brown - Talia Hibbert : bought this secondhand... it was good but did not win me over completely...
