one more thing, the idea that a trans woman would be inherently dangerous because she’s “biologically male” and men commit femicide is insane bc like .. i agree that femicide is an issue! i do think it’s obnoxious when an obviously misogynist act is taken as just a regular tragedy! but yknow who’s 10000000x more likely to be killed by men than cis women?? trans women!

I hate how often people discredit my views because they assume I’m white. I don’t think I should have constantly invoke the fact that I’m black and where I’m from to have what I’m saying validated. The content of my arguments should be enough. Sure personal experience has its place but this identify first trend in discourse is responsible for the erosion of a lot of critical thinking. Creates really bad habits where people lean on their identity as an appeal to authority without actually feeling the need to justify what they’re saying.
