Well... I had a freakin' Blast with this one. Some folks are giving it flak, but it was a strong 8/10 for me. I suppose I can see some of what turned people off to it (some of the set-pieces are overly CGI, it focuses more on action than narrative), but I truly feel this one was well-done.
Chris Evans balances charisma and menace together in a way that's almost reminiscent of Heath Ledger in TDK, Ana De Armas finally gets the spotlight she deserves to kick tons of ass in a lead role. It doesn't waste time with exposition or needless subplots, it has a ton of personality and humor, pretty much all the characters serve their roles to a tee and get cool moments of their own, and it doesn't waste your time, with the credits starting after just an hour and 54 minutes.
There's no accounting for taste 🙌🙏 but just for me, I was very Very pleased here.
