My library posted this — & I definitely misread it as six SENTENCES 😂 so here’s a little lunch break drabble

Katya knew a thing or two about bitter winters; could still feel the deep chill down to his bones after hours spent making snow forts and mazes in the middle of a Nor’easter in his youth — the kind of cold that was barely touched by endless cups of hot cocoa or bowls of hearty stew.

He had packed what seemed like every pair of socks he owned along with the winter hats from the back of his dresser drawer. But nothing could have prepared him for the absolutely arctic temperatures of Wisconsin in the dead of winter.

Ice clung to everything, weighing down the power lines & plunging the town into darkness.

Pulling another wool blanket up to his chin, he turned on his side & rubbed his legs together. “Think we need to combine our body heat, Tritzie.”

All I Want For Christmas (Is A Tattoo)

Katya shook his head, looking down for a moment to compose himself. He would never understand how he wound up with this insane, kind, glorious creature in front of him. He didn't deserve him, he was sure, but Trixie made him feel like the opposite was true. In this life he knew he had people who would come and go, but he had put this bitch through hell and he still stuck around. Maybe that meant Trixie was dumb and naïve. Or maybe, just maybe, it meant he brought the same wonder and joy to Trixie's life as Trixie did to his. 

Summary: 'Twas a couple days before Christmas and Trixie had an idea. On the way to Palm Springs, Trixie brings Katya along for his first ever tattoo. Feelings, pining, and lots of fluff ensue. Merry Christmas, babes.
