I'll post it now like this because I think I messed up with the coloring
Thinking about how one of the other bone adepts of the Ninth puts Gideon's tooth back in after Harrow kicks it out. And how this has clearly happened before, given the way she thinks "never again." So we can probably assume that every time Harrow beats the shit out of Gideon, a nun quietly deals with the damage right after. Putting her teeth in, mending her broken bones, etc.
Which is so funny. It does make sense on a practical level - the Ninth has certain obligations to Gideon and can't leave her injuries untreated, and also the Reverend Daughter is entitled to inflict punitive violence on her, so the logical conclusion of both of these combined is that the nuns have to treat any injuries Harrow gives to Gideon. But the vibe is basically that of Harrow's servants fixing her favourite toy for her after she breaks it in yet another temper tantrum.
A particularly awful aspect of this is that Harrow clearly expresses that she understands herself to be acting within limits imposed by either law or custom on how one can treat one's serf:
It’d be master’s sin if I employed unwarranted violence.
Which suggests that the ability to repair injuries with necromancy might allow for a pretty horrifying definition of warranted violence against those in your indenture...
And of course, Harrow doesn't do the fixing herself, even though she could almost certainly do it more effectively and less painfully than anyone else on the Ninth. Would that make up for her abuse? No, obviously. But it's yet another way she hurts Gideon deliberately, because she's more afraid to show her care than she is to cause her to suffer.

Hello LockedTombBlr I have just finished Nona. :D
"The house of the Fifth had always skinned itself over with such airs of civilisation, with so many manners and niceties, but they were spirit-talkers, and speakers to the dead. And the dead were savage."
Rereading GtN and it's crazy how I've never seen anyone mention that when she's in her nightgown, Ianthe has her hair in two braids. Ianthe sleeps in a teeny tiny clingy nightgown with her hair in braids and this is how she looks when Gideon first sees her eat Naberius Tern. We must talk about this
