Booster hadn't been told where he was going until early that morning. He was escorted with a small group of soldiers into a hovercraft while everyone was still getting ready to leave and they took off. Then he was told.
Hey guess what we're going to save the Capitol prisoners.
Oh.
He was a little pissed that he wasn't told before that but... there wasn't much time to dwell. Actually yes there was. There was a whole hovercraft ride from one side of the country to the other to dwell and yell at everyone who was in charge. How did they expect him to prepare if he didn't know where he was even going. Then they said something about how he was the one who put up all the weak spots and traps in the Capitol's system in the first place, this should be easy.
Booster was quiet and went to sit down after that, because they had a point. Still, they should have told him. He'd like to have someone else here with him. Someone he could trust.
A few hours the hovercraft was in position, not in the Capitol but close. Booster was given a window of thirty minutes, that was how long it'd take for the special ops soldiers to get into the Capitol. A half hour for him to shut down the Capitol's system or they would be fucked. Ok. That shouldn't be hard. Unless the Capitol had gotten rid of all his systems. But they couldn't know anything about that, could they? He felt his stomach drop at the thought but grabbed his tablet and got to work.
They had put up new firewalls and new passwords which was easy enough, albiet a little time consuming, to get through then he was in.
Fifteen minutes.
He took out the outter secruty first. The alarms, the locks, the cameras.
Ten minutes.
He fed the false images of the halls into the cameras so no one caught on that they were down. He disabled all the secret trips that would send warnings to the Peacekeepers.
Five minutes.
And last he took down all the security in the prison. Opened all the power locked doors and... hoped that was good enough.
Zero.
That was all he could do. It was up to the soldiers now. Getting the prisoners out of the Capitol where ever they were hidden. He couldn't know that. He didn't have that information, they did... somehow. Booster paced back and forth watching his tablet like a hawk just in case things started going back up, for what seemed like hours. It couldn't have been though.
Maybe just a couple of hours at the most.
Then... Then there they were entering the hovercraft. The soldiers and the prisoners and --
"Kel!" He tried to run to the girl but was held back and told that he'd have ten minutes to put everything back up before the hovercraft left. Grumbling under his breath he undid everything he had just done in less then ten minutes -- funny how easy that was and pushed the soldiers out of the way pulling Kel towards him and hugging her. "Your sister is going to be so happy."
It would do Pixel a lot of good to have Kel back. And he hoped that... Well he hoped it would help them both.
The Capitol has sent forces into District Nine, but to ensure the Districts freedom, and cut communications between them and the Capitol, District Thirteen is sending in reinforcements. Though they have another reason for sending in their troops. While most of the Capitols soldiers are in District Nine, Thirteen is going to take advantage of this and send a special forces team into the Capitol to rescue those who were imprisoned there.
The raid will last only a day in RP time, though it will last as long as we want, or need it to in real time. Please feel free to write, paras, chats, or selfies about what is going on with your character. If they aren't from Thirteen write how different they realize war is then it is fighting in the games, write about them saving someone, or killing someone. It's all up to you!
Since we have decided to keep the group going ourselves we’re checking to see who is all sticking around. Just reply to this with the name of the characters you’re keeping and I’ll put them down!
Tomorrow we'll be starting the raid, and we'll welcome back whoever isn't posted here any time and feel free to let us know if you're still around, still. But any soldiers or medics posted here will be involved in the raid. And anyone imprisoned in the Capitol will be freed and brought to District 13 by Booster and his special ops group, though they will be subjected to questioning and possibly put in prison depending on their answers.

"Whatever I lack in size and strength and speed, I kind of make up for in being grittier. When it comes to something like basketball I’m definitely not the best guy on the court, but I love elbowing and pushing people out or boxing them out."
Pixel had been leaning across her bed for hours, she wasn’t entirely sure how long but it had to have been hours. She’d taken to stealing the last few pages of paper from her medical sheets and slowly, ever so slowly, folding them into intricate little figures. It wasn’t as difficult as she’d thought it would be. It was still hard of course, folding with one hand, but using the side table to bare down on helped. She’d already made a clunky little bumblebee out of her physical papers and was in the process of making a flower from her pending psychological report. One of the medics had tried to stop her but another told them to just let Pixel do what made her happy and kept her from having screaming panic attacks.
The thing was, Pixel didn’t—couldn’t feel happy. Really, she barely felt anything unless it was just an overwhelming sense of dread and anxiety or depressing emptiness. The medics had babbled on about how her brain was no longer making it’s own endorphins, that it might take weeks or even years to start back up. She understood from a logical level given how long she’d been partaking in her particular cocktail of self-medication. However, emotionally it just hurt that her mind was betraying her for trying to keep it sane. Still, it was a fitting punishment for a failing sister.
Her hand shaking slightly as she smoothed out a wrinkle Pixel didn’t look back as she heard footsteps behind her. It was probably another medic with her meal—Which she likely would only poke at and offer to someone else—and thus wasn’t really worth looking up for. She missed the avoxes, they had been nice to her and never got mad at her for not being able to eat. Besides, what was the point when her stomach could barely keep anything down anyway. Oh, if Drusus could see how she looked right now he’d have a heart attack with just how sallow she looked. He’d give her what she needed, he always did.
So engrossed in her thoughts Pixel was caught off guard by the sudden familiar voice from behind her. She whipped around in her bed, knocking her half finished flower onto the ground. It took her too long to catch her breath as her throat tightened. “B-Booster?” She wheezed as she scrambled to try and get off the bed, nearly tangling herself in her IVs. “You’re okay?! Where were you?! No one would tell me where you were?!” She tried to breath as she shot off questions rapid fire, she’d been so scared that something had happened to Booster. That the medics were lying to her about him being too busy to visit, that somehow the Capitol had taken Booster like they’d taken Kel.
"Careful!" Booster rushed forward and grabbed Pixel helping her back down onto her bed, but he didn't make her lay down or anything. Just sit, with him next to her, and his arm around her shoulders. "I'm sorry, I know. I should have come sooner." He tried to keep his voice soothing, but the regret was clear on his face as he frowned, looking down at her. "You're ok, Pixel. Just breathe." He said rubbing her back and furrowing his eyebrows.
He felt even worse seeing her now, of course. He should have come sooner. He should have pretty much been here every day to see how she was... maybe she'd be better if he had. "I don't know why they haven't been telling you were I've been." He said casting a glance around at any personnel working, but there was no one. "But I've just been setting up things to work here. Dealing with their computing systems, and things like that. I've been fine. Really." He said in an assuring voice and shook his head, as his next statement was a blatant lie. "I've just been busy..."
He had been able to find the cafeteria without getting lost for the past week now, thankfully. Though usually following the crowds helped he found. Then he'd sit with the other mentors and chat about things. How they were doing. The tributes. Thankfully the Careers had been let out a prison so the chatter had lightened up for a couple days and he felt he wasn't needed. Because he wanted to meet someone else...
New people were often talked about among the District Thirteen residents that Booster had gotten to know, and he figured this was because they were used to seeing the same old faces. And for some reason... Booster just wanted to meet this one. He sat down at the table with the District Five woman and her kid and smiled a bit. "Hey. You're Violet Pylon right?"
Hypocritical. Cowardly. Jerk. These were just a few of the words he had related to himself within the past few days of being in District Thirteen. Yes, he was busy getting antiquated with all the new technology set before him. But it wasn't like he was locked in some room nonstop for those days. Booster was smart enough to know that was just an excuse he was telling himself. Whoops I have so much to do I guess I can't go visit Pixel today in the hospital... And it was one of those things where the longer he waited, the worse he knew it would get, so the more he put it off because he didn't want to deal with it.
Where ever he was, and whatever was happening to him Booster hoped Watt knew he was right about how much of an ass he always said Booster was. Letting out a deep sigh he paced in front of the Hospital entrance for a few minutes. Long enough that a guard asked him if he needed help or something. He politely said no and headed inside walking slowly, and looking around before he came upon Pixel's bed. "Uh... Hey, Pix."
Don’t beat yourself up about Kel, Booster. You were flying the hovercraft, right? You staying behind would have meant leaving everyone on your hovercraft to fend for themselves, including Pixel. How do you think she’d be handling the Capitol, huh?
Still. She's Pixel's sister. I've gotten to know her a lot over the past couple of years. I really did try to get her... [It was a point he had to make because he hadn't expected that. He'd assumed... if anyone was left behind then they were left behind, as bad as it probably sounded, that went for Pixel and Kel too. At least he thought it had.]
Technically it’s Walkowski as far as all this last name crap goes around here, but I’m not a big believer in that save for when the commander’s around. Rudy will do. It’s great to meet you I’m sure, Booster.
Heck I’m not the best as far as tours go, but I can’t sure try. It’s just you and the girl joining us, yeah?
Got it. When official people come by I'll be sure to call you that then.
I'll save you the fuss and you can skip over all the computers. I can probably figure out those on my own. Hm? Oh, yes, Pixel. She probably won't be here for a while, but she's a good kid. She's good with her hands.
[It wasn’t even a question and Glitter nodded instantly.] I’d die for Fitz. He’s like my little brother and I will do everything in my power to keep him safe. So yes, I would have stayed behind for him. [She shrugged then.] My tributes are a different story. I would have stayed to save Merlot, but I wouldn’t have saved Silver as horrible as that sounds.
