Probably. But I like my cleaning job, and whatever other stupid tasks they give me. Itās fun and easy.Ā
You guys have fun being soldiers. Iāll stick to keeping my thoughts count.
I guess if you like it that's what matters.

Probably. But I like my cleaning job, and whatever other stupid tasks they give me. Itās fun and easy.Ā
You guys have fun being soldiers. Iāll stick to keeping my thoughts count.
I guess if you like it that's what matters.
No. Yeah, youāre totally right. I am helping. The district wouldnāt run if I werenāt keeping the floors clean. What a hit to the system that would be.
Well maybe if you weren't such a smart mouth you would have a job other than mopping.
But Iām not in a war. Iām going to be sitting back here. So, there isnāt anything coming from me that is going to count but my thoughts.
That just shows how ignorant you are of how the whole system works. Ā All of Thirteen is involved in this war, not just the soldiers.
Aw. But isnāt it the thought that counts?
That's what you say when someone gives you a horrible birthday present. Ā It's not what counts in a war.
Whatever. Iām just trying to be morally supportive or something.
Nice attempt, but the execution failed miserably. Ā I'd suggest working on this whole new supportive thing you've got going on.
Everyone have fun at your little raid today. Kill lots of Capitol people ā or whatever your goal is.Ā
And this is why I'm glad they didn't make you a soldier. Ā There is so much more to it than killing people, Silver.
I never thought I would miss Capitol food,
but I have such a chocolate craving right now it's insane. Ā
Then do us both a favor and stop acting like one.
Trust me, if I was acting like one you'd know it.
But you do care what she wants with them. You care that she had them arrested. You care that they might possibly die in there because they werenāt aware of the rebellion. So donāt tell me that you donāt care what she wants with them. You know damn well that you do.
I know I'd love to break that woman's neck for keeping them locked up. Ā I know that those kids don't deserve this shit. Ā Don't talk to me like I'm a child, Nik. Ā You may have known me for a long time, but I'm not a child anymore.
In one breath you want the tributes out and in the next you could care less. Make up your mind, Glitter.Ā
You misunderstand me, Nik. Ā I don't care what she wants with the tributes. Ā What I want, however, is a completely different story.
They got this far, Moreau, donāt give up on them just yet but you know you have to keep your temper in check. Because if the Commander wants them there, yelling at isnāt going to get them out faster.Ā
Well I've got about as much respect for the Commander as I do for President Snow, so I really don't give a fuck what she wants with the tributes.
Silver smiled a little and rolled her eyes. āIāve never had that bad of an urge to get along with other people.ā But that was probably nothing she needed to explain to anybody. Sheād never needed to feel liked. Never needed to have friends. Never needed anybody. It was more simple that way. Giving a dramatic roll of her eyes, āWell, I needed stitches so it was a serious injury. But whatever.ā She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. āAnyway. If that was all you neededā¦ā Silver kind of felt like⦠it was about time for Glitter to leave. She wasnāt stupid, and she knew the longer they talked the worse things were going to get, and she really didnāt want to get into a fight right now, because she was locked in a jail cell and she wouldnāt be able to just leave whenever she wanted to. She wasnāt going to give Glitter that upper hand.
"Trust me, you spend enough time with these people and those urges will undoubtedly surface." Ā Glitter was half joking when she spoke, but there was an element of truth to it as well. Ā "Stitches isn't a serious injury. Ā Outside of the arena that stab wound isn't even life threatening. Ā Don't be so dramatic." Ā She nodded slightly. Ā It was easy for Glitter to get the hint that Silver didn't want to talk anymore. Ā Honestly, she was totally fine with it. Ā She didn't want to cause any sort of issue with the girl so getting out of her hair seemed like the smart move unless they started fighting again. Ā "Alright. Ā I can take a hint," she replied with a smile. Ā "I'll come check on your and Merlot in a couple days."
Silver let out a laugh and leaned back slightly. āThatās a pretty low standard. If your requirements for people āgetting alongā is not trying to kill them then I guess I get along with almost everyone.ā She said and rolled her eyes. āSpeaking of is that girl from Five here? Did she make it? How come sheās not in trouble at all for stabbing me in the leg? I mean she didnāt try to kill me but she seriously injured me. Isnāt that bad too?ā
"I know it's a low standard but it makes me feel better about myself that I can say I get alone with someone even though really all I've done is not act on any homicidal urges." Ā Glitter sighed when Silver mentioned the girl from Five. Ā "Yeah, she's in the hospital because she still isn't able to speak because of your failed strangulation." Ā Her brow rose slightly though. Ā "And she didn't seriously injure you, Silver. Ā She stabbed you in the leg because you were strangling her. Ā I believe that is a perfectly warranted response. Ā It's not like you lost your leg and she didn't kill anyone, that's why she's not here."
Yeah. Watt. Iā Weāre close, I guess. They brought me here after he was arrested so the Capitol couldnāt take me in.
Seems like a smart move on their part. Ā Although it's probably the first smart move I've heard them make since I got here.
Yeah, I hope youāre right⦠Ah. Me? Iām from District five. I actually was brought here only a few hours before you all were.
Oh really? Ā You were brought in. Ā Is it because of Watt or Spikelet? Ā I'm pretty sure most of the people brought in from the districts were somehow connected to the other mentors.
Oh. It sounds like⦠it was rough getting out of there. Iām glad most of you came out unscathedā¦
Me too. Ā I wish we all would have made it, but I'm sure something will be figured out for those who weren't so lucky very soon. Ā Where are you from, Violet?
Glitter? Youāre an awful long way from District One. So, Iām going to guess you are one of the Mentors who arrived recently?
[She chuckled.] Ā I am a long way from One. Ā You'd be right in guessing that. Ā I am one of the mentors who arrived the other day.
