I think people do, bc my dad has a friend that used to play after paul did and asked paul if he was real paul and he said yes he was. That basically confirms that yes, people do believe if faul. This was also a recurring thing for my dad's friend to meet paul.

With me, I thought faul was twin brother for a good 3 months in 2017 bc I'm fucking dumb as hell.
