im laughing at the marvel vs. dc shade thrown at one of the sessions at my conference. i missed the session itself (i was *thisclose* to going but decided it wasn’t particularly relevant to me, so i downloaded the slides just now to see what i missed) but they’ve got like 3 slides about comic books/comic book movies and they included their notes on the slides:

Marvel: In 10 films since 2008, $237 million in production costs and worldwide ticket sales of $714 million.

DC: $265 million per film and averaged only $560 million. 10% more to make. And this is almost entirely thanks to Nolan’s Batman movies.

In considering its audiences, DC has largely lost track of their motivations (they want an enjoyable time at the theater), the both have experience of the content — but DC has underestimated what that meant in terms of audience tolerance.

There were rumors recently that Tom Hardy has a part in Star Wars: Episode VIII. We can confirm the authenticity of those rumors as they are in fact true. We were able to confirm the general contents of his sequence with a few of our sources as of late and piece the cameo together. So yes, Tom Hardy does have a small sequence in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
