REBLOG IF YOU'RE A SEX WORKER
Please reblog if you are any of the following: stripper, sugar baby, cam girl, pro dom/sub, escort, fin dom, or any other form of sex work.
Tumblr is my oasis of fellow sex workers in an ocean of SWERFS, men’s rights activists, and other sorts of idiots that believe sex work is demeaning.
I want to follow all of my fellow ladies/gents that make a living in sex work. I want to be there for newbies - to teach them safety tricks and tips; I want to be there to congratulate a veteran on a great night, or support someone who maybe didn’t have such a good day. And I want to be available to listen to a fellow sex worker vent about a shitty client/experience.
So, if you can take a moment to reblog this, I promise I will follow you, and then be there if you ever want a new stripper friend.
“Since the 1980’s (or earlier- the definitive source of this term has not been identified) US police forces- particularly, LAPD and San Diego PD- have used the term ‘No Human Involved’ or 'NHI’ to mark cases they intend to cease investigating or consider a low priority. These cases predominately involved gang violence and violence against women, particularly when the victim was a POC. Recent claims suggest that hundreds, if not thousands of cases of violence against sex workers have been dismissed as having 'no human involved’- including, but not limited to, multiple murder cases.
While much of this information comes from leaks in the police force and can not be completely confirmed, it is highly representative of the attitude towards violence against POC and sex workers, especially sex workers of colour, that many have encountered personally.
Sex workers demand better treatment by police, and many of us stand for police abolition. Police involvement in our lives is almost universally a violent experience. We stand against police corruption, police violence and racial violence. We demand better.”

There are no official figures on how many sex workers exist globally, with estimates roughly running between 13.8 and 30 million people. But their labor itself has been well documented throughout the ages, cutting through every class and society—from legal brothels during the Roman Empire to the Japanese oirans (courtesans). It’s impossible to imagine a world without sex workers.
And—despite social seclusion—everyday women have much to thank sex workers for. Historically, sex workers have been heavily involved in activism and have pushed hard to progress women’s and workers’ rights, both within and outside the sex work industry.
You won’t read about sex workers’ contributions to women’s rights in the history books. Most of their efforts have been ridiculed at best, and ignored at worst. Sex worker and activist Juno Mac of the Sex Worker Open University and the English Collective of Prostitutes explains the losses that could have happened without sex workers’ help.

Without question. No ifs, ands, or buts.

In order for a full-service sex worker to be able to turn her services into a private business, do you think it would need to be decriminalized or legalized? I'm doing an American Government project on the decriminalize took of full-service sex work. Please and thank you for your time.
In my opinion it should be decriminalized. Sexworkers don't need a specific legislation. They are workers just like anybody else and can therefore work under same laws.

As sex workers we welcome Amnesty's policy – it will help empower us... We hope Amnesty’s support for decriminalising the sex trade will move the discussion from moral frameworks towards putting sex workers’ safety first. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2015/aug/18/sex-workers-welcome-amnesty-international-policy-help-empower-us
