"Babel" Thoughts
This episode starts the trend of torturing Obrien for no reason. The poor man is exhausted from getting the station up and running, and he somehow ends up activating a deadly virus. Little does he know, he will never catch a break this whole series lmao.
Overall, it was a very good episode. I appreciate the last crew standing are Odo and Quark. It defys your expectations for a typical st episode. This kind of reminds me of the episode in tng and tos where everyone is infected with the drunk virus. Although the virus here I think is more deadly.
From my main!
"Past Prologue" Thoughts
I've decided to start rewatching DS9, so I'll catalog any thoughts I have here.
This episode is a great examination of the early Kira and Sisko relationship. Kira has reasons not to trust Sisko that come from living under an oppressive colonialist regime. This is also why she's hesitant to turn Tahna in.
Sisko is coming from a place of privilege in this case, as he is from earth and a Starfleet officer. He doesn't necessarily understand Kira's point of view when it comes to the Kohn-Ma and why their actions might be necessary.
This episode also has the iconic meeting of Julian and Garak, which has been talked about to death at this point. But I forgot just how weird and funny their interactions were at first.
Overall, it's interesting to see how these relationships began in comparison to how strong they become in the future.
I've started rewatching ds9 and writing my thoughts on my main!

This Borg has an eyepatch and a moustache
Part of me is excited about The Borg Queen returning to Star Trek. Especially opposite Picard and Seven. But it's not Alice Krige. And she made that role. Defined it.
I don't think Alice likes to do TV. I think they had to entice her to do Voyager's finale. I also think age and COVID and all that makeup could play into if she declined to reprise the role.
But since she took part in April Star Trek Day events, I'm just surprised they'd recast. And mildly disappointed.
When Picard started, my biggest hope was those two together. When Seven joined the cast that only increased. I kind of got my wish. But it's not quite it. 😕
#1 Way to spoil the new season I guess
#2 After the voyager finale I had hoped that the borg would have to adapt into a different way of working. But I guess not 🤷♀️
#3 I don't trust the writers to do the borg justice after the dumpster fire that was st Picard.
You say that I am a human being and yet, I am also Borg… Will you one day choose to abandon me as well?
Ya ever just remember the Borg baby?
