Someone put red paint on the "Serve and Protect" sculpture at the Salt Lake City police building and it is such a powerful statement.
"Good art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed." -C.A.C.
I know this is probably a joke/exaggeration, but:
Adults with ADHD tell stories of missing meetings or deadlines because they got so absorbed in something that they lost track of time. In one extraordinary case history, cited by Nadeau, a woman with ADHD was so focused on a project that she failed to notice that her house had caught fire. āIt was only when firemen came through the house, searching for anyone left inside, that she looked up and realized what was going on,ā says Nadeau. (x)
I feel this on a spiritual level.
my experience as a girl has just been āI just wanna be beautifulā for 20+ years it really is the root of all evil
bitches who are introverted and have adhd see a text and are likeĀ āi will deal with this when i have the social and emotional energy for itā and then fucking forget about it for a week. anyway, iām bitches
This is so important.
u ever get jealous over something u have no right to be jealous over so u just sit there like⦠ok

my goodness look at the amount of detail on this one. the colors, the shading, everything is just spot on. you can almost make out the individual feathers. truly a marvelous mallard. 10/10
i see they went with one of those brown varieties of duck. while this is a bold move on their part, i feel as though it loses a bit of its personality. iām just not really feeling this bird.Ā 7/10
this looks like a modern colorization of the famous duck from the hieroglyphs. i am absolutely in awe of their dedication to the medium and commentary on the transformative nature of art. 10/10
look at this good boy! he is patiently awaiting a treat and i wish to reward him with a multitude of gifts. 11/10
yuck. 2/10
ohoho, what a dynamic three quarters angle! the artistās ability to capture the essence of duck in 3d space is so refreshing to witness. 10/10
this birdās looking a bit sickly, i think it has to do with the highlights being in weird places. hope he feels better soon. 5/10
a bit more minimalist this time around. the lack of legs makes it seem as though heās resting on the surface of the water, and i really admire how it sets a scene and makes me feel like iām really there. 9/10
iām really digging the positive energy coming from this bird. i canāt explain why, but i feel like that animalās my friend. 10/10
this is a goose. 0/10
Small town culture is knowing that there are Old Folks with strange nicknames but never knowing the stories behind them.
Of course, I made the mistake of asking why everyone calls this one guy Brickaday and it turns out that he worked at a brickyard for 40 years, stealing exactly one brick every day and making no particular efforts to conceal the theft. Nobody thought anything of it until years later he was discovered to have built three houses.
His boss is said to have shrugged and made some remarks about the importance of coming up with a plan and sticking to it.
Iām trying to arrange my face into an appropriate approximation of silent bafflement and failing miserably.
i appreciate brickaday
chaotic good
My grandpa once told me he worked with a guy called Scrappy at General Motors back in the 50s. Every few days he would wheelbarrow out metal shavings and the foreman was convinced he was stealing things and hiding them in the scrap metal to get it out of the factory. But every time theyād go through the scrap theyād find nothing. He was stealing the wheelbarrows.
One of my late grandfatherās friends was called Salami because he used to steal salami and cured meats so Iām seeing a pattern here
