Still a new year 🎆
My 2016 reads 📚
Thank you 2016! What a year! Failures. Heartbreaks. Lack of faith. Extreme laziness. Unreached goals. Unfinished bucketlists. Emptiness. Career change. BUT ALSO: Maturity. Relationships. Financial blessings. Life lessons every single day. New friends. Growing hobby. Grounded knowledge of self-worth. More books. More wisdom. More confidence. More spirit. More love. This year, I learned that when fear strikes you, that's when you can be at your bravest. Jump! Even if you are afraid, even if you are uncertain of what lies ahead. This year, I learned that people will judge you no matter what. You win, people will try to put you down. You lose, people will laugh at you. I learned to take them as nature's way of making you realize what you truly stand up for. After all, YOU choose what you stand up for. And that, you are not alone in this world in proving that you have a point. This year, I became more disciplined in my finances. In a small way, I became more aware of my responsibilities as a young adult. This year, I saw Les Mis. What a prod. It. Did. Not. Disappoint. The world is full of so many talents. But who says yours is not unique? This year, I learned how to go with the flow of demand in our industry. It is okay to venture out to things you didn't sign up for on day one. It's okay to learn new things and start from scratch all over again. This year, I learned how to be professionally mature. And that it's okay to make mistakes. And that people over the phone are not smarter that you. And that you'll have more regret for not raising that impediment. And that it's better to "oops" than to "what if." This year, I had a lot of mistakes, a lot of regrets and a lot of "what if's". 2016 came by quickly but I guess that goes the same for all working people. But if I look closely, yes. I may have been an awful person at times. I may have been over-conscious and insecure. I may have been a sloth. I may have failed my fitness goals. I may have hesitated in our standups. I may have been stubborn and selfish and rude and controlling. But I forgive myself. Because I learned. Thank you for all the life lessons, 2016 ❤
