Samurai Jack of the Caribbean project from an amazing class this year! Here’s my studies, concepts and character iterations and final designs!

Amazing!
Thank you!
How do you do that pink and green line effect?
Ah! the chromatic aberration effect? It’s really simple!
First you start with your art. for it to work properly the art has to have a fill. if it’s just black lineart alone it won’t work.(if you try, you’ll get only one color as opposed to two) the background doesn’t have to be transparent, I’m just showing for the sake of emphasis that it doesn’t work across transparency.
here’s a chilchack.
duplicate the layer. (or duplicate a group of layers, if you prefer)
right click the copy layer and select “Blending Options” (which should be the very first option in the menu)
Deselect the “G” Channel.
Using the move tool, nudge the copy layer in any direction.
Ta-da!
You can also play around with different channels for colors besides the Green/Magenta.
Again, you can apply this effect to entire layer groups, and also flat images!
have fun and don’t strain your eyes too much LOL
To All Writers of Everything Ever
I need to rant about this:
Also known as the best writing program ever! It’s a full-screen writing program!
So you open it up, and it looks like this:
You’re thinking, “Ok, so what? It’s a screen with a picture. Whoopdie do.” But it get’s better! It’s customizable!
See that “appearance”? Click it.
You can also use custom fonts that you have installed!
See that “music”? Click it.
If you drag your own music into the folder, like so:
You get this!:
But wait! It gets better!
See “typing sounds”? You can change those too!
Perhaps the best is - YOU CAN USE ANY PICTURE FOR THE BACKGROUND. It will automatically fade it for you!
Seriously, guys, this tool is wonderful. You can use it for:
Research papers
Novel writing
Play writing
Short stories
Homework assignments
Ranting about your friends when they piss you off
Writing your shopping list
It auto-saves. It exports to .rtf. Hotkeys from Word for italicize, underlining, and bold work. You can print RIGHT FROM THERE.
And the seriously best thing ever?
It fits on a flash drive. The entire thing with added music is maybe 131MBs.
The bestest thing ever.
It’s free.
HOW TO BRING BACK PPL WHO STOPPED WRITING IN 2009
I used to use ZenWriter! It’s fucking amazing.
Taking on a few more mermay commissions since there were some complications with my wisdom teeth so I can't start my new job until next week. Message me if you're interested!
Ink and color pencil 15$, Digital sketch and digital ink 15$, Ink plus watercolor is 20$. Digital sketch, ink + digital colors 20$ +10$ per additional character, 5-10$ additional fee for more complicated character designs.
Some of my work from this semester on my Overwatch meets LA project. Experimented with my final rendering style on this one. Hipster Hanzo the barista that plays his guitar in the coffee shop during his breaks. And fitness nut Tracer & sunburned annoyed tourist Widowmaker! Though this style was fun to push for this project, I'm definitely going to go with my more visdev and shape design style with my senior project. Already working on the IP and more interactive ideas...
Mermay commissions are open! Ink and color pencil like these are 15$, ink plus watercolor is 20$. +10 per additional character. Includes a high res scan! I can draw you, your pet, friends or a character as a mermaid with any type of tail or bra if you want! Digital options available too, message me if interested to reserve your spot! This is the cheapest my commissions will ever be.
All profits will help me afford my down payment on my new place, so every commission is greatly appreciated. 😄 so are reblogs!
Do you still have any mermay commissions available?
Yup! You can find my commission forum here

You can send me it through my email. [email protected] feel free to ask if you have any questions not answered on there!

Just in case you forget this exists.
It exists.
With those “when you want to design a character but you don’t know color theory” posts flying around I thought this would be relevant again.
SLAMs THE REBLOG BUTTON
there’s also Coolors website that gives you randomized palettes!
Don’t forget ColourLovers, either! It’s a social media-esque site where you can browse tons of palettes and share your own.
You can browse the most popular ones or search for certain colors, themes, and even specific hex codes!
When you find one you like, you can download a wallpaper swatch of it and also select the specific colors it uses to look at more palettes that use those same ones.
ColourLovers is my go-to for when I’m having trouble coming up with a color scheme! It’s also been around for over a decade, so there’s plenty to browse through.

Hello ! Just dropped a little message to tell you I really love your art ! Your use of colors and shading is absolutely gorgeous, I can't get tired of watching your drawings ♥
Thank you so much it really means a lot to me :)
Coffee shop sketches, best place to find models. Using copics, watercolors, color pencils and digital. I’m going to start sitting in on classes this summer for extra practice! Check out more of my work here on instagram
Hi everyone!
First of all, I just wanted to thank y'all for all the love on the last tutorial I posted -I’m glad people found it worthy of sharing and reading. I wanted to make this one more in-depth. I don’t think I would call this a “tutorial” to achieve something specific, but a look into the thought process that goes on regarding environments, storytelling and execution. Hopefully you can relate it to your own thought processes you currently have.
Have a good one, guys! If you got questions, do ask ‘em. :)
(Also. I know I’ve been quiet in posting new art lately. A lot of the art I can’t show yet but there is cool stuff on the way.)
