Just an important heads up but I wanted to state that I will no longer be active here anymore! Instead I’ll be active at onscholarship. If you want to follow me over there feel free, same for if you want to continue any threads or plots we have ongoing. If not, that’s okay too! I had lots of fun running this account for the short time I did.

This is just an announcement to say that I updated my Rules! But I also want to emphasize something that has been on that page since I first set up this blog.
So just so people don’t think I stole icons from myself...onscholarship is also me.
Everything about Carl’s stance was pointing to distrust. From the way he kept his gun in hand, though lowered to his side, to the way he refused to relax his muscles and let his guard down near this strange, hard-to-read stranger, there was nothing pointing to him trusting him except for his words. He wanted to trust him, to give him a chance at a life that was more than this. It had to be hell, being stuck in this little, beaten up shack day in and day out. How often did he get to go outside? Was he even taught how to fight and defend himself? There were countless questions the teen had, but they weren’t important. The important questions were the one’s Rick always asked people. How many walkers had this guy killed? How many people? And why? He honestly doubted he could even get an answer from him though, considering he’d struggled a great deal to get so much as a single word out. Blue hues were locked on the blond’s face as he tipped his head downwards and gave a quick but tiny nod of his head, lips parting to begin what seemed to be a difficult task of answering him. Trust, he’d droned.
“Trust,” Carl repeated after the stranger, leaning back some where he knelt and resting his hands in his lap, gun still gripped tightly in one. “I wanna trust you. Just don’t give me a reason not to.” His gaze met with the other’s, his big brown eyes staring hopefully up at him and the nod that followed being enough to push Carl to go through with his decision. He raised his gun, aiming it at the end of the chain that was connected to the other male’s wrists. “This is going to be loud,” he warned, and then he pulled the trigger, a loud BANG sounding as the bullet was fired. It collided with the metal, the chain falling to the floor and leaving the blond semi-free from his restraints. Like Carl had said before, he had zero intentions of removing them until he knew he could trust him. Maybe it’d be before they reached Alexandria, maybe it’d be after. He and his group had gotten screwed over one too many times by not taking the proper precautions, and he knew better now. Just in case of a surprise attack, Carl held his gun out, but soon went for the chain and picked it up with his free hand. “Look, I don’t know how long it’s been since you’ve really moved, but your mom isn’t far from here. She probably heard the gun-shot, and it’s possible that walkers did too. If we’re gonna go, we gotta go now,” he explained, backing up with the chain and giving a gentle tug on it.
In the distance, after only just emerging from the shack, Carl could already hear the desperate cries of the other’s mother. “Kyle?!” She called, her voice echoing within the forest, causing the brunet to inwardly cringe. It was stupid to be yelling. She was just going to draw unwanted attention to herself and end up having to deal with a hoard of walkers on her tail. Alas, if Kyle was her son, he supposed he could understand where the panic came from–not that it really made sense to him. If she really cared about him, why lock him up like he was no more than some sort of pet to her? It was twisted and unsettling, similar to the very feeling he’d got while at Terminus. People eating people. Desperate times called for desperate measures, but that was just wrong. They’d treat you like friends, like family, and then send you off to be slaughtered so they could eat you. It was like something straight out of a horror film.
“C’mon,” Carl urged Kyle, tugging a little harder on the chain while his gaze was cast towards the trees where the woman had disappeared into a few minutes ago. She was getting closer. Dammit. Quickly, turning his attention back to Kyle, Carl held both the chain and the gun in one hand before he offered him his other one. He was trying to help him, a single, reassuring nod of his head given to let Kyle know that it was okay. He just wanted to help him up, probably even support him if he couldn’t walk that well. He seemed to be pretty awkward on his legs earlier, or maybe it was simply because he’d caught him off guard and had caused him to stumble.
For a moment, Kyle saw the willingness to help in the stranger’s blue eyes. A stirring of happiness fluttered up, but quickly plummeted as the gun was raised. He had heard him repeat his word, but there was no denying that a gun was a frightful object enough cause for distraction, especially with it being held and so close. In his muddled mind, he was still scared of it and it was by pure luck his hands didn’t fly up to shield him before it went off. Yet, when they did and the explosion rang in his ears, his hands were immediately covering his face. A moan of fright issued forth, but it was muffled by his own mouth being covered. And that was when he noticed the freedom in addition to his motions --- no longer was he bound and chained. Kyle stepped away from the pole he had been attached to for so long and looked down in wonder at the shackles. True, he still couldn’t move them like he remembered he used to, but he could walk free. He only stopped his gawking as the broken chain connected to the manacles was lightly tugged. This time Kyle lifted dark hues and there was an instance of primitive understanding that clicked. Lashes fluttered in a blink; he stared down, then back up.
He could have resisted. He could have pulled back easily with his strength to overpower him, went on his own way. Kyle was aware he could have done that, but he wasn’t going to. The confidence and power held by the boy over him was terrifying to an extent, but he had been kind. Most importantly, he had freed him and that in itself made it so that he would follow any command. At his urging, Kyle followed, his footsteps uneven and awkwardly placed, but falling purposefully with the exertion of his energy. Simply the act of walking free without feeling the hovering presence of Alicia nearby was gratifying, so much he wanted to express his thanks. But all he did was continue to flicker softened glances in his direction. The dangers of what were around had yet to be shown to Kyle.
The brilliancy of natural sunlight poured over him as the door was pushed open. Kyle ducked against it instinctively, a shackled hand rising waveringly to shield his sight. A few stumbling footfalls landed, not enough to jar the one leading him or cause Kyle to clumsily fall over, but the additional stimuli was overwhelming and disorienting at first. He had been cooped up in that shack for so long --- Kyle squinted, dots coming in and out as he gradually adjusted. But then everything stopped when he heard Alicia’s voice. It sounded loud and uncertain, but he didn’t see her. Drawing his gaze away from his new companion, Kyle stared towards the direction of the trees. Part of him wanted to call out, to yell for her to eliminate that worry, but she had always told him to be quiet. Every day she returned, she had ordered his silence and any time his voice started to grow, she would become angry and shush him. Now she was yelling for him, being loud and rallying against her own commands and expecting the same for him. But he didn’t speak, he didn’t even utter a small groan as she called out a second time. Kyle was torn asunder by his on desire to respond, but no, no, no! That wasn’t right! His face squinted and broad shoulders twitched as he tried, tried to process everything, at war with himself.
His mom was calling him, his mom...but Kyle was leaving! He didn’t have to listen to her. Yet uncertainty churned from the leftover remnants of his loyalty which weren’t completely stomped out no matter the amount of abuse she put him through.
The chain was tugged again, and Kyle finally returned his attention to the other boy. The previous confidence built up inside of him had diminished, though it was still there. Yet even as a look of worry crossed his brows, he never grew forceful. He didn’t jerk the chain or command Kyle and send him crying to his knees. Slowly, Kyle started forward, his feet shambling as he grew used to the movement once more. He clenched his jaw hard and gritted his teeth as he forced one foot to lift and come back down. Their speed was slow, but picking up. Hunching over lightly as he focused on moving forward, Kyle started to gain speed even as he heard curses and yells in Alicia’s voice. There was an anger there that he didn’t want to see and that spurred him on all the more.

she’s grinning now, already blushing from just his attention. there’s something about boy’s with a charming smile that disarms her faster than any man toting around trophies and awards. they can keep their titles, she want’s this. easy going, friendly && she doesn’t know what else exactly but there’s something that pulls her in like a magnet ( maybe it’s his hair?? )
‘ i haven’t ever went to one!! i’m a freshman actually, you can just call me the kappa virgin,’ she laughs, too tipsy to feel shame at throwing out such a vulgar nickname. ‘you wouldn’t happen to know when the next party is would you? i hear they’re the best ones.’
❝I thought so. Because I’m positive I would have remembered you.❞ He was easy going, all loose limbed and fluctuating good vibes --- only momentarily thrown off by the label she gave herself. The provocative wording had Kyle hitching his brows at her. Oh, she was definitely feeling the alcohol. Made him wonder exactly how much she had to drink. ❝Yeah? That’s one way to put it.❞
A chuckle loosened from his mouth, gazing all over her with brimming amusement. ❝You heard right. We do throw the best parties on campus. But hey the night's not even over yet, and you're already asking when the next one is?❞ Kyle playfully rocked his head to the side. ❝Maybe you should just focus on enjoying the one you’re at now.❞
