One thing I enjoy doing in writing is adding in misconceptions and stereotypes, that actually have a completely different, but completely natural explanation.
false: All Travellers, regardless of clan and tribe, personally know each other.
truth: Travellers’ embroidery has a coded language, and the traditional Travellers’ vest has the wearer’s life story written on it, and any other Traveller can know it just by a look at their clothes
false: Fisher folk have such massive families due to their men’s astonishing sexual skills - a fisherwoman simply cannot resist her husband again no matter how much she is completely done having children.
truth: Fisher folk do not have any higher birthrates than any other culture or ethnicity of Abarak, they just have lower infant mortality due to the strict and seemingly ridiculous cleanliness- and hygiene rules that define their culture.
false: The Kairthim refer to everything as ”it” because their birth language does not have separate pronouns for animate and inanimate things, and they are too stupid to learn.
truth: Kairthim have no trouble understanding abaraki grammar rules, they hold onto this quirk of their native language as a silent protest against the imperial oppression of their native land.
false: White people are incedibly prone and vulnerable to alcohol, and if given enough to drink, a Northman will drink himself to death on the spot, or at least make a brave attempt to do so.
truth: Baron Aiden ar Gar is an outlier and should not have been used as the primary subject of such observation.
these are the same picture just on opposite sides of the spectrum
just ember island things
girls will say they "know a spot" then take you to the sacrificial altar
girls will tell you "there's this really great place, it's a bit of a walk but it's worth it" then lead you to the middle of the forest and leave you there
did something happen
can i get back to you on that one? i'm kind of being hunted for sport rn

This piece was a HUGE pain to work on, yet I’m not 100% satisfied with it (;⌣̀_⌣́) I meant to make this a quick piece and upload by July 3 (for Obey Me Max) but alas I work like a snail so it wasn’t possible. I had a completely different background made for this, only to scrap and go with a different one. the scuffed background is of the LA convention center in case you can’t tell rofl
also I know I got Levi’s hair wrong; I only realized it AFTER I completed all the coloring reeeeee
I plan to do more prompts for the month! I can’t do all of them, but I have the Beach, Butler, and Summer Festival ones up my sleeve ;)
one of my favorite human quirks is when the power goes out and you’re w other ppl and inevitably someone says ‘did the power go out?’ like...you’re all sitting there in the dead dark, tv black, wifi gone, lights OUT but still they’re like ‘hm. well I have a theory but it needs to be submitted for peer-review’
The gaang plays a stupid game which basically tests how good zuko is at finding shit.
It starts off with aang trying to make zuko more likeable by showing how good he is at finding things. He hides their supplies in a weird part of the western air temple and is like “don’t worry. I’m sure zuko can find it by the end of the day.” He finds it in ten minutes.
The game gets more ridiculous. Aang hides their supply bag in secret rooms that not even he knew existed up until now. Katara freezes it in a block of ice and submerges it in a nearby lake. Sokka trains Appa to keep it in his mouth for long periods of time without swallowing it. Zuko finds it every damn time.
They’re impressed and somewhat unsettled by how good he is at this game. But they absolutely lose their shit when it comes to toph’s turn. She hides the supply bag deep underground and assures them that zuko can’t possibly find it unless he magically became an earth bender and learned seismic sense overnight.
Zuko kinda struggles with this one until he walks over the patch of dirt where toph buried the bag. It looks normal but he feels...different somehow?
Everyone’s thinking “oh god. Oh no. He can’t possibly do it. Don’t tell me he’s gonna do it.” Zuko silently points below his feet and the rest of the gaang have a collective breakdown.
Zuko’s like, “does this mean you guys think I’m cool now?” They’re all too terrified to say anything but “y-yeah sure.” And poor zuko is too socially inept to hear the fear in their voices. He just smiles and thinks his friends are liking him more now.
This was simultaneously adorable and funny
