Hoooo boy! The kickstarter is finally live! Woo!

I've been trying to think of something sentimental to say since this is a bit of a monumental milestone-- even if it is just the start of the campaign ^^,-- but the nerves, haha they're making it really hard to wax poetics right now.

So I'll just say this straight up! On behalf of the team, thank you for being here with us! The fanarts, the love notes in our inboxes, the theories (oh my god the theories ahsdlkasdh)-- everything that came out of your sincere support and passion for Keyframes thus far has uplifted us like no other! So even if the next 30 days is unbeknownst to us all, thank you for giving us the energy to start this campaign optimistically.

anyone who's been following me since the 1d days, knows that zayn and liam always have been my faves.

i used to make gifsets and edit pictures, even created a sideblog for the wwa tour, that me and my friends updated every day. i considered myself a very active part of the fandom.

2013 was also when i was diagnosed with clinical depression. so even if i was older than them, these guys, their dynamic and music helped me through a really hard time. they definitely were an escape, even if i can admit today, that it wasn't always the healthiest kind. that doesn't change the fact, that they brought me so much joy!!

i've never been as affected by a celebs death, than by liam's. i keep catching myself thinking about him. about the teenager with big dreams and a bright smile, and the man swallowed by his own demons. emotions are complex, and i think it's gonna take a while to fully digest this new reality. rest in peace.

to all my 1d friends. toni and cami and ayesha and yeshi and sophie and kris, and all the other amazing people that i talked to over the years: i'm thinking of you. 🖤

Eddie stays over at Steve's, they're not even together, Eddie stayed in the guest room, but he wakes up before Steve and Steve goes downstairs once he wakes up to find Eddie fiddling with the coffee pot. When he hears Steve come into the kitchen he turns around with a bright smile and tells Steve good morning. "Did you sleep well?" Eddie asks as he goes back to playing with the coffee maker and Steve just stares at him because it's been months since someone stayed at his house and even longer since someone was up before him to wish him good morning and all the sudden Eddie feels more like home than anything ever has and it makes Steve's chest hurt. It's also too early in the morning for Steve's brain to override his impulses so instead of answering he shuffles over to Eddie and wraps his arms around him, pressing into his back. Eddie freezes for a second before relaxing and turning around to hug Steve back, Steve's face pressed into his hair.

So, jealous Eddie. Corroded Coffin are playing another gig and Steve's there obviously, standing in the crowd. They’ve been dancing around each other for a while. Eddie has been throwing hints left and right, but he can never get a clear read on Steve’s feelings. When Eddie’s eyes drift along the crowd, he has to witness how the person next to Steve keeps hitting on him. And Steve, well, he's just a sucker for flirting ok? He's all charming smiles and warm eyes, laughing at the right time and touching their shoulder as they huddle closer so they can hear each other over the music.

Eddie’s on stage and CAN'T DO FUCK ANYTHING about it! Something real and ugly pools in the pit of his stomach. They're not even together, so the jealousy isn't justified in the slightest, but he's so in love and it hurts! He's also not one to give up so easily, running away is something he left back in ‘86. So when the next song ends, he changes the set on a whim. He tells the crowd they gonna do a cover next and that catches Steve's attention.

They rehearsed the song a few times, but Eddie never actually thought he'd go through with it. It's definitely the adrenaline, he also can't remember the last time he was so nervous. The song starts and they put their own metal spin on it, fast-paced, heavy bass, loud and distorted guitars. He seeks out Steve in the crowd, who's already looking back at him and starts singing.

“Whenever I'm alone with you..“ 

It's Lovesong by The Cure and the lyrics are so on the nose Eddie thinks he might get a little sick, but drastic measures and all that. Everything else around him falls away as he croons into the mic, eyes never leaving Steve’s who's watching him with something close to wonder, the person next to him seemingly forgotten. There's a soft, private smile settling on Steve's lips, one that's only ever reserved for Eddie. Steve looks at him with so much adoration, Eddie can’t help but get his hopes up.

He sings “However far away, I will always love you” and means every single word. His heart is storming inside his chest. He just confessed his love to this man to a room full of people and even though most won’t pay attention and know nothing about the secret he’s been carrying around in himself for so long, this maybe feels like the biggest and boldest move he's ever done. Might even top fighting demobats all on his own. He almost forgets the lyrics when he watches Steve start crying, lifting his glasses to wipe away the evidence of his tears. Yet Steve's smile is the most beautiful thing Eddie has ever seen; so bright and contagious, Eddie has no choice but to return. He has a feeling that everything will be alright.

“Robin knows” this. “Eddie knows” that. Those two are clueless, they spent half of ST4 trying to make st*ncy happen. Steve and Nancy, though? They have firsthand experience of what the other person looks like when they’re flirting/interested.

So when the four of them are hanging out and Steve gives Eddie a certain look, or when Nancy smiles a certain way at Robin, they look at each other like:

Eddie and Wayne move into a new home with the government's hush money and at the housewarming party, Joyce gifts them a Ficus Bonsai. For luck she says and  Eddie doesn't have the heart to tell her that they don't really care about plants, except for the ones you can smoke, but then there's Steve. He's been taking care of the plants at his home for years, someone has to right, doing a pretty good job too and he enjoys gardening. It's something where he can just let go and not have to think as much. 

Steve's over at Eddie's at least once a week anyway, so one day Eddie finds him watering the tree. He's almost forgotten about it if he's honest. This continues. Steve waters and trims and the tree is growing into something beautiful, as are Eddie's feelings for Steve. Until one day they have a fight, it's more of a misunderstanding really, but they both suck at communication and Steve's hurt and Eddie's stubborn. They don't talk for a month.

Steve's great at believing this is some self-fulfilling prophecy, everyone will leave him eventually. Eddie.. Eddie just tries not to think about it at all. To the day where his eyes focus in on the bonsai tree. A few leaves have fallen to the ground, others are yellowing on the branch, the soil is dry and it looks absolutely miserable. Eddie, who until now has felt numb, suddenly feels everything at once. The hurt and regret, the loneliness and the heartbreak. He starts crying on the spot.
