I haven't participated in a fic exchange before. Can you detail the tag nominations, how to sign up, and what details to include when signing up? Or does that all come later? sorry if this silly.
Not silly at all! Okay, so, first be logged into Archive of Our Own. If you don't have an account already, sign up for one. It takes less than a day to get an account. Then you'll go to this link.
Pick a relationship from the first list. (Contact us to have one added that isn't already listed.) Pick 1-4 options on list 2. (The more you pick, the less chance you have of matching with someone, but don't let that discourage you.) Click the "Any Additional Tag" box only if you truly do not care what you get. (You can also contact us to have additional tags added there, but the less we have, the better chance we have of people matching.)
The Prompt URL box is for if you want to have additional details somewhere. In other exchange challenges, it's pretty common to write a "Dear Author" letter on tumblr or Livejournal where you expand on what you'd really like. However, you can simply do this in the Description box. Give at least one idea for what you'd like to read. It doesn't need to be extremely fleshed out, but it does need to give your writer an idea about how kinky and graphic you're comfortable with. If you have triggers they need to avoid, list those. This information will be emailed to your author when assignments go out, so direct it to them. What do you want your fic to be?
You'll repeat this with request #2, and can also do a request #3 by clicking the "Add another request?" button. Please stick to one pairing per request, though you can use the same relationship for multiple requests.
Onto the offers, you'll need to list what you'll comfortable writing. So, choose the pairings and tags you're comfortable writing together. (Clicking the "Any Relationship" or "Any Additional Tag" boxes means that you're okay writing anything at all.) Because, for example, you may be comfortable writing Fluff or Sub Derek with certain pairings and not others, you can do this process up to 5 times. The more offers you have, the better your chance for matching.
In the description box for offers, list anything that may help us match you such as your triggers or your preferences so we can do our best for matching.
Then? Click submit. In theory, you're done at that point until assignments go out, but if you do have further questions, contact us.
