if I trusted myself to actually work on them anymore after today I would have maybe waited and written more, or gone through to edit them more, but frankly I don't.

I'm just glad it's done. I really had a lot of fun writing it over the years.

a little while ago- actually like 100+ days ago but same difference- someone went through BIA and left a comment on every single chapter. it was kinda wild just suddenly getting email notifications for comments on a fic i last updated in may 2023, but i loved reading each one as they came in anyway. it was a nice surprise!

and eventually, when they reached the last updated chapter and the comments stopped, i sat down one night to skim-read through my own fic, the first chapter of which was posted back in january 2020.

the beginning was predictably kinda bad, by my current standards. but i saw the way my own writing and storytelling improved and the turn the story takes near the end of it actually surprised me.

it might sound funny seeing as i wrote it, but it's been a while, and i've been busier than i've ever been. in april i'll be graduating with a writing degree.

i still feel bad about not finishing that fic, especially considering it's maybe a chapter or two away from the end. part of it is that i have no interest anymore in writing zelink smut. trust me i still love zelink as a ship, but maybe cause i wrote so much of it?? idk. that 'eventual smut' tag is hanging over me. it just doesn't feel apt at all considering what's about to go down. rich for me to say probably, considering what sort of smut i've already written, but i'm 31 now and my tastes have changed, i guess. like i still like horny stuff don't get me wrong but for that particular fic it just doesn't feel right anymore.

anyway if i get the guts to finish it and commit the sin of deleting that tag and pretending it was never there, i'll try and do it in like... idk... the next few months. before i become even busier. just in case anyone is checking.

also i'm hesitant to change my username but man i worry i might be turning people off by the username alone. i remain anti-AI.

You are the one who wrote speed running link and that modern au with the swimming Olympics and link is Zelda’s bodyguard and the yiga trapped them in an alley and Hyrule was apart of our world, right? no but fr it’s so fucked up that link has technically gone through this shit like 3 fucking times by the end of totk. he dies for this cause but nope! that’s not enough! wakes up a hundred years later with no memories or knowledge other than that he has to do this shit AGAIN only this time he’s alone. so he does it and he kills ganon bc he has to and it’s all he really knows how to do, but this!! is still not enough!!!! and so like a decade later he gets his arm ganked and his soulmate poofed and it turns out he has to try and kill ganon for the THIRD TIME and this time it’ll take I pinky prommy <3 I’d lose my mind. I would be completely unfit for civilization I’d be so rabid. but it’s link and it’s Zelda and the whole point is that this wouldn’t be getting asked of link if he wasn’t someone who would always say yes, so WHATEVER I GUESS.
