Toxic Parents: Overcoming Their Hurtful Legacy and Reclaiming Your Life by Susan Forward
Why Does he DO That: Inside The Minds of Angry and Controlling Men by Lundy Bancroft
Cannot recommend WDHDT highly enough. Iāve found it helpful not just for romantic relationships, but also for growing up w a āunexplainable/uncontrollableā dad.
IT HAS ALSO BEEN REALLY HELPFUL FOR UNDERSTANDING ONLINE MOB HARASSMENT.
So if youāve ever been bombarded w threats to be raped/killed, (soā¦if youāre a minority and youāve been on the Internet for a while), this book might be useful for getting clarity around the whole entitled, abusive mindset that drives certain kinds of people to behave that way. And by āgetting clarityā, I mean (for me) being able to go āoh, thatās whatās happeningā and not really feel scared anymore. Or angry, or drawn out into it, or anything.
And if youāre still standing around going ābut how does something like GamerGate happen?ā or ābut why do men hit their wives?ā or whatever ā please read that book and learn something.
^^^^ truth WDHDT is fantastic at cutting down MRA bullshit and calling it what it really is
Also recommending
Please consider reading these. WDHDT is really, really helpful. And I know some of you are struggling with abusive relationships, friendships, families, etc. Youāre not alone. There is help.
Yo. This family holiday, please, please take care of yourself. You arenāt there to be anybody elseās cushion.
Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents
Reading any of these books does not mean you donāt love your parents or family. Ā Itās just self care for helping you cope and not repeat the behaviors.Ā
A gentle reminder that I have Toxic Parents as a FREE PDF if you would like to download it and read it on your own.Ā Take care of yourselves.
All the books in this thread are great; adding this one because it was the most helpful to me. Free pdf here
toxic parents is the book i checked out from the library last january that REALLY SINCERELY helped kickstart my road to recovery. even if you are not a victim of abuse, they are invaluable reasources, but help pass them around so people who have been abused can have access to material that actually, genuinely, sees them and provides them with concrete help
saved which ones i could as pdfs
āadult children of emotionally immature parentsā is $10 on ibooks, lower than amazon
āwhy does he do thatā pdf here, (the above one is gone)
just make sure you tap the little icon in the top-right
before copying to ibooks because for some reason the link wonāt go straight to the download and trust me i pasted the right one :/
From an early age I understood my father was abusive and so I could write his temper off as *his* problem and not mine, which helped. But I was so angry with my mother for a longer time bc I felt like she basically didnāt stand up for me and etc etc. It wasnāt until yearsss later that a family member of mine said that from the outside, what they observed was my mother being *jealous*. The thought never crossed my mind then but now, and also after reading some things about mothers, I think itās really important to focus on that. A lot of our mothers became jealous of us, perhaps on this deep-seated level of competing with us for fatherly attention (as in to compete for resources) and thatāsā¦not okay.
So many of my peers (and myself) could benefit from this reading list. So many of us could pass this list to our parents, too. Let's break the cycle of painful childhoods!!
Healing Heart Tea
My mom recently went through a pretty tough break up, and since we drink tea regularly Iām planning on slipping this herbal blend into her Earl Grey. Because Yāknow it couldnāt hurt.
Start off with a base of Black or Cinnamon Tea
Add-
Ā Lavender (for peace)
Rose (for matters of the heart)
Cornflower (for joy)
Lemon Balm (for healing)
Yarrow (for courage to move on)
Rosemary (for mental healing)
Use herbs to taste, and serve with honey and milk

The Past is The Past, Matt Bors
Letās reblog this until everybody sees it
Thereās a lot to unpack here. +the flexibility to get in that pose +the balance to stay on the skateboard +the strength to pull back a bowstring with your toes +the dexterity to hit a target while moving +the coordination⦠not hand-eye, but foot-eye ā¦I donāt know what to do with these things now that Iāve unpacked themā¦
How is this even something you find out you can do

I feel like Chiron is such an overlooked celestial body. Chiron was a healer and a teacher but he could never heal himself.
In our charts Chiron shows us the part of our lives we struggle with the most and it shows our karmic wounds, things that we are forced to confront in our life. At first it causes us a lot of hardship but through that we learn and we accept and we become a beacon of light for the younger generation - or anyone for that matter, who struggle with those things.
We heal ourselves through healing others.

Welcome to ā¤THE CONJURE CIRCLEš·, an 18+ Discord server dedicated to creating a warm, educational community of practitioners and beginners of the Afro Diaspora and/or Latine. However, I and the Mod Team wanted this to be a safe space for people of the diaspora and of latine descent to learn and talk more about their ancestral traditions, since so many communities online tend to be hostile and over run by misinformation and appropriation.
Therefore, this server is only for people of the Afro Diaspora (Black/Mixed/Biracial) or Latine (of any race) who are 18+.

A Witch Morning:
Many witches have their own personal morning routine to get ready for the day. This is my personal morning routine and tips for those who are yet to have, but want one.
1. Get up early, before the sun rises. Begin by stretching your sleepy limbs, followed by 5 to 10 minutes of meditation.
ā(Tip: If youāre bad at getting up early, set an alarm earlier each week until you reach your goal.)
2. Make your bed and tidy up your room. This gives a sense of organization and clarity. Opening your windows invites the cool morning air into your home.
ā(Tip: Do chores the night before. Tomorrow you will be grateful! You can clean your room the night or day before, so youāll only have to make your bed in the morning.)
3. Eat a good breakfast. My favorite is greek yogurt with berries, homemade granola, and honey drizzled over the top.
4. Prepare some tea! Use a tea associated to your intention. I drink peppermint tea in the morning to clear my brain fog and give me the much-needed motivation for the day.
5. (Optional) Eat your breakfast and drink tea outside as the sun rises. Take time to practice mindfulness with the tastes, textures, and aromas of your meal. Feel the gentle warmth of the rising sun on your skin, smell the fresh morning air, and listen to the birds sing.
6. (Optional. If yoga isnāt your thing, exercise⦠Or not. Your choice.) Set up your yoga mat either in your personal yoga space, or outside. Light incense and place crystals associated with your intention around your mat. Personalize your yoga routine with correspondences of each pose. I begin with the sun salutation to welcome the rising sun. Yoga increases your vibration and further clears your mind for the day ahead.
7. Clean yourself up. EVEN IF YOUāRE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, DO IT. Take a shower, wash your face, get into some clean clothes, and anything else that you do to get ready such as makeup and color correspondences. You can listen to your favorite music or sing while doing this.
ā(Tip: Set out some clothes and take a shower the night before if you have to.)
8. Now that youāre cleansed and have your daily intention set, you can continue with any morning spells and divination that you may do!

May the day bring you much joy and prosperity!
