"Katherine Pierce? Freezing? Oh my, how terrible for you. I almost decided to give a crap."
Love me, or love me not | Open
Caroline had thought about her words all night, in fact she was sure that she hadn’t slept more than a few hours. Her heart had been letting her know to either get the guts or she was going to regret it for life. So what if things didn’t work out? She would move on from it, rejection was natural and she wasn’t afraid of it. Actually, yes she was. She just couldn’t let it hold her back from living. Her life was her own, she would take the reigns. And that began today.
As she had her hands clasped together, wringing them nervously she waited for the object of her affection to show up. She’d had to make the conscious decision to seek them out, having sent a message to them to meet her, surely they would wonder what she wanted, but she couldn’t tell them at the moment. No. She had to wait for the right moment. Once she spotted them she stood from her spot, she gave a slight smile.
"Hey" She breathed and stepped closer. "I know..that this is overwhelming for me, and you’re lost but I have to say it. I.." She swallowed. "I love you..I’ve been fighting it and telling myself not to. I’ve been pushing things away and getting angry at myself because I’m not happy how I want to be and I don’t know what will happen to us but you have to know..I am utterly, and completely, in love with you"
12:30am.
A text message was all it took to force Damon into his car. A text message was the reason Damon was prepared to drive for three hours. A text message was all he needed to feel life race back into his soul. A text message from Caroline Forbes. If he shut his eyes – which was not recommended, of course, seeing as he was operating a vehicle – he could still see her electric eyes reviving his dark hues. Upon the death of Elena, he had lost himself completely. Everyone that had once grounded him had been ripped out of his life. Stefan flipped the switch, leaving Damon alone to ponder his own mortality. “Coward,” he mumbled, knowing all too well that his brother couldn’t hear him. He was probably out somewhere ripping heads from shoulders.
When Caroline left Mystic Falls, Damon had felt his last piece of sanity leave with her.
The two had been friends ever since she was fifteen years old. He had arrived in Mystic Falls with a corrupt view of the world and was willing to destroy the lives of innocents. Growing to love the town had proved it difficult to cause such destruction, so he had made the decision to get to know some of the residents. A brilliant relationship had been formed with his brother and with the friends Stefan had made. Caroline was a shining beacon of hope to the eldest Salvatore; an angel, a beautiful soul that seemed to suck away his sadness each time they met. Now she was 18 and it had become obvious that Damon had not aged. Still, the blonde did not question it. The Prince of Darkness and the Angel of Light seemed to have it all.
Impatience pressed his foot down on the accelerator a little faster. He couldn’t wait anymore. Although her text had been brief, he needed to see those eyes again.
Two speeding tickets later, Damon reached the park she had asked him to meet her in. He practically leapt out of the car, not caring if it was locked. He ran towards the figure in the park – overwhelmed with life. He ran as fast as any human could, stopping his vampire instincts from taking control. Damon’s figure moved like a silhouette against the shadows as he slowed to a walk. “Caroline,” he murmured. Her voice wrapped him up and made him feel warm despite the icy death running through his veins. He almost felt human. His dark eyes, muted by the night sky, were screaming. Each limb was dying to touch her. He needed to touch her.
The rapidity of her heart was hard to miss. Simply shaking his head, he walked forwards and said “Just…shut up. Stop talking.” He wrapped his leather-clad arms around her delicate waist like and kissed her lips. “I love you too, Blondie.”

❝I feel terrible..❞ Elena muttered, opening her eyes as she spoke. ❝Where am I?❞
"You're safe," he murmured, caressing the pink in her cheeks. How did she not remember? Everything that had happened was now etched into his brain. Nothing could take those memories from him, no matter how strongly he wished them away. Clenching his jaw, his electric eyes fell silent. "So you don't remember anything?"
"Not that I care, but what is someone like you doing in my bathroom with someone like me? Have you come for the show?"
"I’ve decided that there’s no such thing as too many Christmas decorations." So she may have went a little overboard with all of the lights.. and the ornaments, and everything else. But she was proud of her work.
Damon skeptically eyed the tree. As a man of his age, he liked to believe that he was a Christmas Tree expert. "Too much tinsel. Not enough lights. Ammature" he mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"It’s not just the blood, it’s the whole eating-his-organs thing. It’s totally disgusting. I mean, seriously, who would want to eat a brain. Just..ew." Caroline replied, before letting out a heavy sigh. “Ugh, fine. But only this once and never again."
"Nice to know that the flesh-eating vampire has standards." Arching a brow at her abrupt defeat, he watched the blonde's disgust grow. "Consider me your personal, hot, vampire pillow"
"Aw c'mon Caroline, what's a little blood? Plus, I can hide you during the nasty scenes. Don't be a horror movie prude."
SOS! Girl down!
Obviously not ‘Love, Actually’. I can’t believe I’m saying this — but since you were nice enough to feed me, I’ll let you pick a movie. They’re on the shelf by the TV. There’s more upstairs if nothing down here pleases Princess Damon.
Strolling over to the DVD cabinet, Damon decided to take his sweet time choosing — angry Caroline was entertaining Caroline. "Let's see...Bridget Jones' Diary, Sex and the City, Easy A...I'm trying my hardest not to slap myself in the face right now" Reveling in the blonde's frustration, he continued "The Breakfast Club...oh! — what's this? I brought my own movie." Pulling a DVD from underneath his leather jacket, he arched his brows in conquest. "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre it is"

"Are you being serious?" Caroline stared at him after that kiss with a big smile on her face, she could not believe what he was saying. “And… How are we going to get that?"
Child-like, Damon eyed the blonde as though she were the Eighth Wonder of the World. God, she's beautiful. It was an extraordinary feeling, to hold the entire world beneath your fingertips. "We are going to seduce Mystic Falls - and we are going to enjoy every minute of it"
''Stop thinking that you know me that well. I don't care, all right?''
"Mm and that’s exactly what I was like ‘till I woke up and realized that nobody likes an asshole"
SOS! Girl down!
- Fine. …You’re just lucky I’m hungry. You can sit down and stay, Salvatore, and uh - thanks. For the snacks.
"You're welcome, Forbes. So what're we watching?"

"Sure I want to, why are you feeling extra good?"
"Mm, it looks like my chances of getting on the Council are pretty damn high. And you know what else?"
"You're going to be Miss Mystic Falls and we're going to rule this town."
Step With Me || Damon & Rebekah
Word was the ripper of Monterrey got lonely, so he escaped to the city for comfort. Earlier in the night the bastard had a run for his money when the blonde took a drink out from under his nose without so much as a second glance. One of Rebekah’s innate gifts was being able to read people and that one was trouble, something she was fond of. It was prohibition. Everything was off limits then, which made everything so much fun.
When the opposite Salvatore name confronted her she was prepared to believe it was some sort of game, but there was something hesitant in his nature that she’d picked up on previous to their introduction. The man in the simplest black suit however seemed absolutely confident.
The blonde’s piercing blue eyes darted from his for a moment, remembering who she had ironically saved the next dance for. He was nowhere in sight and last she checked it wasn’t love. Once Rebekah’s eyes were back in focus, she offered a warm smile and moved a hand upward to put into place a strand of hair that had come undone when he removed his hat. “I would love to."
Rebekah was curious to know what her brother Niklaus would think in a moments time when he saw his beloved younger sister in the sequins and pearls dancing with about the only person he might genuinely disapprove of. That didn’t stop her.
She allowed him to take the lead and fall into movement in a crevasse by all the rest, enjoying the dance music. She let her body get close to his as if to be able to hear each other over all that was going on, but mostly because she wanted to and what Rebekah wanted to do she did and what she wanted to get, she liked to believe, she would get.
She watched as her right hand moved into his and then looked up- “Salvatore. Isn’t it?" The question escaped her soft demeanor so innocently. Which would he prefer, she wondered, the version of herself that his brother seemed to be wild for or the girl she spent most of her time avoiding, the one with feelings, the one that cared, the one that said yes to a dance with the man in front of her.
Like an old-fashioned movie star, Damon was well-reserved, awfully polite and possessed all the qualities of a true gentleman – that was, until the sun went down. Darkness offered a sense of comfort. Immortality came out to play with the sun’s absence, and for once, Damon didn’t have to feel ashamed. He could do anything, be anything. Tonight, he was Damon Salvatore – nothing more, nothing less. Just Damon.
Nobody knew him here. He was a loner; an outcast seeking affection, but not attention. Loneliness was a part of him now. That part would never truly fade until Stefan returned, apology in hand. Mustering a smile, he took the girl’s hand and showed her to the dance floor. If his heart was human, it would be hammering like hell. If he were human. Damon’s stomach burned in disgust at the thought. If it weren’t for his brother, he would at peace beneath the ground by now – devoid of all the miseries immortality had to offer. Just last week, he’d witnessed his oldest friend be whisked away by Death’s greedy fingertips. Why couldn’t that have been him?
As the two began to sway to the music, the blonde posed an odd question. Almost embarrassed by the association, his eyes darted around the room, checking to see if anybody heard. The last the he wanted to be was merely Stefan’s failure of a brother. “Afraid so,” he began, his voice strained. “I’m new here. I thought I wanted to find my brother, but now I’m not uh,” the man’s voice raised to battle the music “now I’m not so sure.”
Had he said too much? His vampirism still remained a secret, this girl posing as no exception. Frustrated by the topic of Stefan, Damon cleared his throat, a small smile sliding across his lips. “May I just say that you look…” Ravishing. Gorgeous. Angelic. Breath-takingly perfect. “…beautiful.”
