Logan let out a soft breath, his shoulders jumping slightly when he heard his name. He thought he’d been alone. After having turned, he was only slightly surprised by the weapon being tossed his way, and caught it with relative ease. Though, it could really be called a weapon, considering it was built for practice and not combat. The young prince blinked down at the rapier, then looked up at his mother. “Uh…” He was more used to sabers than rapiers, but any practice in other arms would probably be beneficial. If it meant time with his mother as well, that could be a plus. “Of course, mother. Just don’t let my ability frighten you.”
That’s her boy. She smiles openly, and laughs the same, “ Do you mean you won’t go easy on your own mum? My, how ruthless of you, I am scared. ” she jests, rounding to take a proper position opposite him, and raising her blade to touch his before the bout, “ I think a single would be too short, so let’s make it a five point match, eh? clean hits only. ” a clarification she only feels she has to make because she and Walter were known to forsake propriety in some matches if they got too into the moment-- a trait which her youngest had begun to show as well, to no surprise.
Logan was sensible though: clever, and quick-- all promising of a gifted swordsman. “ At your ready. ”
