I think Chris is in denial and that's why he reposted it. I think he feels played but that's just my opinion.
Oh yeah, definitely. Imagine the shock if one of your friends killed people for being part of a group you are also in through no choice of your own. Chris must be in a very confused state, and questioning the validity of his experience being friends with Dylann. What was real, and what was an act? Did he really want to murder him too? Why is he alive and why are those people dead, and how did he not realize what was going on with Dylann? They're all really tough questions with which Chris will have to deal with. I think he still treasures the memory of his friendship with Dylann, and tries to preserve the memories as genuine. He prizes loyalty above all, according to what I can understand from his Facebook posts at least, and he wouldn't completely turn against Dylann like Lindsay did because of that. Through the post with the non-racist boy who looks like Dylann it seems almost as if Chris is trying to paint an alternate ending to the story, and pretend that Dylann never stepped foot in Mother Emanuel.
Do you think dylann wasn't racist? I think he was a lowkey racist and stayed friends with Chris and whoever else because he didn't want anything to think he was until after the shooting.
I agree. I think he wasn't always explicitly racist, but with the passage of time he developed his views and tried to keep them hidden, at least a little bit. I think Dylann felt like he was keeping some sort of secret, like he was privy to knowledge that other people couldn't see even though it was in front of them. That exacerbated the substance abuse and isolation which ultimately led him to do what he did. He might have even been explicitly racist, I don't think his friends would have been bright enough to catch his remarks and their significance. Chris doesn't strike me as too bright, and if my real life social justice loving POC friends saw the kind of race related stuff he posts they'd shit a brick and say he's self hating.
So Chris Scriven just posted this. The guy in the picture looks suspiciously like Dylann. Hmm...
