Hello Good Omens Fandom, you have landed on the nice list for the holidays: we present the Aziraphale & Crowley Angelic Playlist. @neil-gaiman
I added three songs to this playlist. Which three I will have to leave to you to discover.
How Good Omens came to be: and about the names Aziraphale and Crowley and how they used to be one.
If anyone cannot read them that well because of the quality, here are the original ones I posted on Twitter. ๐

The A to Z of Terry Pratchett.
This, this fucking image...
It drives me insane, just activates something visceral, and I finally realized why. It's not just an appropriately placed close up shot to denote intimacy between Gabriel and Beelzebub, it's a fuck damn pov shot.
Gabriel is not dressed in accordance to his preferences, he is borrowing Aziraphale's clothes. And Beezlebub, well lets just say a black blazer is a black blazer, not exactly the easiest thing in the world to differentiate. Just looking at those hands joining, the individual identities of their owners melts away. The moment could have so easily belonged to Aziraphale and Crowley... and it's just- it's... it's just like the Rats of Nimh. They've seen this sign everyday for almost their whole lives, and have never once known what it says. They can make inferences, use context clues, wherever they are, it seems to be too so it must be about them, but they couldn't ever know for sure. Until one day, without warning, they looked at the words, and understood them.
And the sign communicated a way out.
Aziraphale and Crowley are the first of their kind. I don't think we really appreciate or understand how utterly unfathomable what they feel for each other is in their lived contexts, even to them. All this painful fear, all these lengths they go to, all to keep safe this precious experience they don't even have the language to name. It's not just unallowed, it's unreal. So then just imagine what the actual fuck they must be feeling when they see someone else... just fucking do it. Just like that. An angel and a demon. In love. Intimate, affectionate, in front of heaven, in front of hell, in front of humanity, in front of GOD, and She knows who the hell else.
For literally the first time, theyโre seeing the things they feel for each other exist in others like them.
Male Scifi and Fantasy writers: Look at this !Strong! female character! She can fight and solve puzzles, and ends up with the sidekick not the hero! Isnโt she a great character?
Everyone: No, sheโs one-dimensional and still only exists to please the heroโs ego
Male scifi and fantasy writers: Youโre never happy! This is how characters are written! Besides, itโs much harder for us to write women because we are men!
Terry Pratchett: *creates a female character who is literally the embodyment of a dog, sets her up to be the love interest of Protagonist Hero Man.* *writes her as clever, emotionally tortured, lonely and powerful* *uses her to explore difficulties of bisexuality and masculine dominated workforces*
Terry Pratchett: *Creates a pair of old witches, one of whom is a virgin and the other who has slept with lots of men.* *makes them best friends, never dismisses one lifestyle of the other, explains lifestyle choices based on characters history and personality, uses this to develop each character as the books progress*
Terry Pratchett: *Writes Sybil Rankin* *makes the powerful rich lady heavy set but beautiful, never plays her by her looks, develops her as she ages, acknowledges the way society views such people and then spits on their attitudes* *does it again with Agnes*
Terry Pratchett: *Writes a book about an entire army secretly being women, creates complex female relationships, introduces same sex relationships completely naturally*
Terry Pratchett: *takes old joke about female dwarves and uses it to explore gender identity without making it seem forced or unnatural, carefully discusses some of the issues and complextities whilst still making funny and witty observasions and maintaining genuine fantasy tropes*
Terry Pratchett: *DOES THIS ALL OVER AND OVER AGAIN, DEVELOPING CHARACTERS AS HIS VEIW OF THE WORLD DEVELOPS AND CAREFULLY APOLOGIZES FOR EARLY MISTAKES*
Excellent note by @spiderleggedhorse
Terryโs writer superpower was always Thinking Things Through. All the way through.
Catch me posting these everywhere! I just love it so much.

The Good Omens book spreads.
I have given up on tumblr, but I post my annotations here as well :)
Down to five days on the Good Omens Kickstarter. Hope you guys haven't become bored with me posting about it.
Naturally, we're all thrilled with the response.
One of the things I'm finding really helpful is listening to the original audiobook while I work. It's amazing how you process information differently depending on whether you read it or hear it.
There are small details I missed - or forgot about - that I've gone back and tweaked because I heard something while listening to the book.
I include few descriptions of action in the script: I usually just post a page # to the original novel text to make sure I go back and read it again if I think I need to. Your mind can run off in directions the source text didn't go, and it's important to go back and "touch grass" as it were.
Anyway, again, thank you for your incredible support. We're thrilled to be able to bring you high end books and great swag.
If you haven't looked at the Kickstarter page, be sure to check out the new rewards, we've added some wonderful high-end limited editions now.
It's a joy to work on this.
Small sneaky peek...
