isn't 'not being the target of transmisogyny' a privilege? i agree that trans men don't magically get bestowed with male privilege when they transition but being TME is absolutely a privilege. there are some parts of transphobia that just do not apply to those of us who were afab. that's a privilege.

There are exceptions to this unwritten ‘home’ rule, however: anywhere that is completely private is also acceptable.

Which really only serves to put the bathrooms at school on the table, because heaven forbid Reki has to go an entire 8 hours without kissing his boyfriend. He thinks attempting to do that might kill him, actually.

Other than that, there are no exceptions.

These rules were created in Reki’s mind for safety. He saw how those two boys were treated.

Due to a force-of-habit error, Reki ends up joining Langa in Canada for Christmas, and he finds homesickness harder to deal with than he initially thought. Langa does his best to make Canada just as much of a home to Reki as it is for him, but no road home comes without its cracks and bumps.
