World Enough and Time/the Doctor Falls wouldn't be such a perfect cyberman story if it wasn't a Bill Potts story. The focus on a lesbian character excellently shows the entire point of the cyberman as an allegory for religious abuse, conversion therapy, and homophobia: "Perfectly sound idea, unfortunately, all they want to do is turn everyone else into cybermen, too." You couldn't do this with any other companion because it would just turn the cybermen into another invasion of the robot army.
