January 1, 2021 . . . Woah, we actually made it? I am SO grateful for the fact that, even in such a ridiculous year as 2020, we can know that God is moving and working. Today it was taking comfort in the fact that friends are still friends even if we cannot hang out as we normally do . . . Staying cautious but trying to remain social is HARD. Don't let this past year get to you . . . It has been rough for sure, but we've made it. Hopefully 2021 will be better. God knows the plans He has gr us, plans to prosper us and not condemn us. Plans for hope and a future. AMEN. #HappyNewYear2021 #Finally2020isDead
Used coffee as a background color on this one . . .turned out super cool . . .just wish the perspective had turned out more accurate . . .the building on the right pisses me off.
I've been trying to find words to describe the year 2020 . . . I cannot. Sufficeth to say, good riddance . . . May 2021 be anything but what we've experienced this year.
Saw airplanes landing at Wien Flughafen this afternoon . . . Somehow it is reassuring that this is happening because Covid cases are in the rise. Great views from this spot!
Visited the #leopoldmuseum today . . . I'm always blown away by how amazing Austrian artists are and were. Solomon Moser, Egon Schiele, and Richard Gerstl were just a few that I communed with today . . . Amazing stuff. Here are some of their works:
So I've been preoccupied lately with art history and the lives and accomplishments of various artists. This has led to a personal Renaissance of sorts for me in trying to learn everything I can about the various artists that have contributed in some way to our cultural heritage.
I am trying to come up with some engaging ways to get middle school age students and even high school students involved in and more interested art history. This has led me to create, along with my colleague, a continuing project on our art classroom bulletin board. I've yet to come up with a good name for this project, but stay tuned to this space for other thoughts and sneak peeks related to this project.
Art Gallery. Keep coming back to see new work.
Artist Statement:
Art is self-expression, a way that one can creatively say what is in their mind that words or music cannot express. We are all creative beings as we are all made in the image of and are or can be reflections reflection of a creative God, one that loves His creation and wants to see us prosper. As an artist I feel that the creative nature of God is the main reason why I create . . . I create because I can and because I know that the Lord looks on the creative process that I can use and smiles.
