Rafe x Pregnant!Reader Headcannons

•When you first tell him you’re pregnant, Rafe is admittedly very scared. He didn’t have the best parental figures growing up and the last thing he wants to do is be a father.

•He’d be a little distant for a while after you told him. He’s not the greatest at dealing with his emotions.

•He does not want to make the same mistakes his father made.

•It scares him to know that he is responsible for the wellbeing of his child.

•Once reality sets in (and you consistently remind him that he doesn’t have to be like Ward) Rafe becomes super protective.

•He never misses an appointment. He wants to be there to support you and to ensure your baby is healthy.

•Rafe starts reading baby and parenting books! He does not want to make the same mistakes his parents made. The baby and parenting books give him a little peace of mind and allow him to feel more prepared.

•Anyone who pisses you off will face his wrath.

•He insists on you resting as much as possible.

•From now on, Rafe does the groceries, cleans the house, and makes sure you are always relaxed.

•He will wake up in the middle of the night and get you whatever food you are craving.

•When he thinks you’re sleeping, you often hear him talking to your stomach. He’ll tell the baby about his day or read them a story.

•Rafe LOVES to tell people that you’re expecting. He will subtly brag to anyone who will listen.

•After you find out the gender, Rafe will go on a baby shopping spree. He buys the most expensive and over the top baby gear while claiming “I just want the best for our kid.”

Not all of the people reading your x reader fics have white skin

Just a gentle reminder before you write characteristics that assume whiteness and exclude your black/indigenous/poc supporters-specifically in 'x reader' works.

I love and appreciate writers, but this is a recurring avoidable issue (going on for decades now).

"your dusky pink nipples" "your face turned just as red as his" "he could see the blush on your face" “your cheeks furiously blushed” “your ears burn bright red” “The look in your reddened face” “your knuckles white with effort” “bruised purple against your light skin”

Describing the physical feeling instead of the visual change helps include your readers while also elevating your writing IMO.

Anyone can say "Your cheeks turned red with embarrassment" or "Your face flushed" but wouldn't you rather say "A burning heat rushed across your face, from your neck to the tip of your nose, prickling right underneath the surface. You look anywhere but him, hoping your newfound interest in the buildings ceiling tiles will ease the fire tightening beneath your skin" And instead of the other character pointing out that the readers face is red, they can point out the obvious flustered facial expression/body language.

If you want your reader insert to have white/fairskin, then just label them white!reader or put the mention in the warnings/summary.

↪I have reached out to writers I favored/supported before and sometimes I have been met with severe hostility and defensiveness. I often wonder if people are doing this purposefully or for some reason think only white people read their fanfics (?)-if that's the case then be upfront and label your reader inserts as white!reader or something PLEASE. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like black women and other POC aren’t wanted or considered in these fandoms because it comes off like that in your writing. If you need a different motivation, just know you're missing out on more interactions, reblogs, and a bigger reader base. I don’t know why white is the default for so many writers in unspecified x reader/reader insert fics-the people on your blog following, reading, and supporting you aren’t all white and fair-skinned.

I am not talking about OC fics or fics where race/skintone is x specified in summary or warnings. This is specifically about unspecified "x reader" where whiteness is assumed as the default

Put in the comments good replacements for writers to use!

okay i love this idea…frank is definitely the kind of guy to use 3in1 on every part of his body (face and hair included) the idea of such an intense shower of skincare routine would be so confusing to him

You were currently seated at your vanity explaining what an everything shower was to Frank in the simplest terms you could think of.

Frank had never been so confused.

"An everything shower," he questioned with an incredulous look on his face. "Isn't every shower an everything shower?"

"No of course not Frank," you giggled in response. "An everything shower is when I shave, wash my hair, exfoliate, you know the works."

"How long does this usually take you," he asked with genuine curiosity in his voice.

"Oh, only a few hours,” you replied getting your products ready.

“Hours???” Frank replied eyes nearly bursting out of thier sockets.

“Yes Frank. Hours,” you answered while beginning to brush your hair.

i don't give a single fuck if someone here hates me or finds me annoying for the amount of times I've said the same thing

but

for the love of god STOP TAGGING RAFE FICS UNDER DREW'S in general just STOP PUTTING YOUR WORKS UNDER TAG'S THAT AREN'T FOR IT

it's not the same to tag a trevor or zach fic under drew's (because there's nearly none of them) in the way that rafe's fic appear on drew's tag by the amount of works that are posted for that specific character everyday

it's the same for pope, jj, john b, etc

like actually please stop not only you stop readers for reading what they want but you also stop the author's of drew's fic from getting their work to the one's searching for it
