The main reason why season 3 of yellowjackets was such a bummer is because they didn’t show how the girls are just teenagers in a rough situation. Season 1 pulled it off fantastically. Season 2 had the shit bucket. Season 3 only had Mari.

No, but I am poc (Black) so my frustration towards Mari's and other poc characters treatment, largely, stems from that. While I personally don't view what happened to her as around the lines of "scalping" (if that is what you are referring to), the nature of a yte girl taking a brown girl's hair as a trophy sets an unsettling image that makes many poc fans view it as such. As everyone has their own perspectives and feelings towards that scene rightfully, and the implications behind it can be felt differently, so I don't personally see it as my place to tell others what it is and isn't because of how sensitive the issue is (not saying that you are in any type of way, just clarifying my stance). If I find some takes by Indigenous fans of the show, I'll try to share them with you if you would like.

I definitely do agree. The yellowjackets creators treat WOC like stories for the white yellowjackets to get more trauma. I’m indigenous myself (all though not too connected to my roots) and i’m just very confused why people are saying shauna scalped her. I think shauna would have done it to anyone and their rivalry just fueled that.

being a shauna fan is so easy i get to enjoy the most complex and awful female character ever written and i don’t even have to worry about her dying. she protects her own life with how awful she is. and even if she did die it would be a win because i’d get to witness callie eating her. and she’s played by melanie lynskey
