I’m far too shy of a person to come off of anon so I do want to clarify right at the start that this is being asked genuinely/in good faith! I’m just honestly curious!
What made you decide to include such heavy themes in BranchClan’s story that you tend to not see in other ClanGen stories? Particularly thinking of Troutskip (and just.. everything, actually, with Frozenbeam 💀)
More specifically I suppose is, were there events that actually occurred in your ClanGen run that made you think something like “hey this kind of reads like/can be read like X” that prompted you to go down this sorta route with the characters, or was this entirely a part of the story that didn’t come from the actual run at all and is unique to your telling of the story or? :0
(SO sorry if any of this comes off as.. crude? insensitive? Or anything similar 😭 I promise that’s not my intention. I’m someone who, when it comes to these heavy topics particularly, struggles with finding the most.. ‘socially correct’ (for lack of a better term?) way to discuss anything related to them. Like i FEEL like there’s a ‘correct’ line I’m supposed to walk along but I’m not.. quite sure where it is if that makes any sense ^^; Despite the fact that I myself have written stories that include such topics myself 😭)

The short answer is…It depends.
Long answer is, it’s both my own ideas and clangen events. It genuinely depends on the topic.
Let’s take…Pearfur, for example. Her whole thing with Frozenbeam was mostly from clangen events. What happened was this: I skipped a moon and Pearfur was pregnant. Sadly a cat I liked died, so I had to reset that moon. And in a former moon, she got a relationship event thingy that basically said “Frozenbeam said something that made Pearfur uncomfortable” or something along those lines. I checked their relationship tabs and while Frozenbeam had romantic like for Pearfur, Pearfur had dislike for Frozenbeam. I already had Frozenbeam as an antagonistic character and an asshole from the start, so I used those events and my own mind/experiences to make that part of the story.
Troutskip’s story was almost entirely thought of by me and the fact that in-game Trout. Really does not like Frozenbeam! <3
I didn’t want to shy away from “taboo” topics because they’re something that I enjoy writing about. It’s probably some kind of messed up coping mechanism but alas. It makes me feel better.
