Here’s one of my theories:

I believe that Sideshow Bob is Stonecutter Number One, he probably created this group so he could trick people into agreeing to help him kill Bart. Think about it, he and the other Stonecutters were toughest on Homer, who’s Bart’s father.  Although Homer was the Chosen One, he and the other Stonecutters quickly grew tired of him, just like how Bob quickly grew tired of Bart.
