"I was trying to show you! Your future husband’s coming, Albin Jotter, how do you feel? I think you’re s w o o n i n g.” Jane ran up after Albus, looping her arm into his.
"Future husband is a bit extreme, innit? I haven't even proposed yet, Laney. Let's calm down a little bit until we knows it's official," Albus joked, stealing one last glance at the newsstand before starting to lead her back towards the castle. Though he at least tried to keep his crush a secret from most people, he knew that there was no point with Jane; she could see straight through him anyway. "He's coming to England, though, can you believe it? I'm going to have to take a sick leave from school."

Melanie let her hand drop from her mouth, a bit relieved and mortified to see him helping in capturing her run away kitten. She hurried over just as he scooped her up in her arms. Melanie gave Bubbles a subtle pointed look as she took her from the Slytherin. The cat purred and laid herself out in her arms, small enough to fit perfectly. ❝ I am so sorry about her. Yes, very new I got her just a few weeks ago. ❞ She said with a small apologetic nod. ❝ Thank you Albus… ❞ She muttered, petting the kitten hoping it was her nap time so could have some peace. When she looked up at the sixth year again she realized maybe he didn’t know her. She knew him because of Roxy, though she couldn’t recall them ever talking, though she had seen him briefly once when she’d been visiting Roxy.
"She's cute," he commented, reaching out to scratch the cat behind her ear in hopes of calming her down a bit. "She'll get easier to handle after a while, once you've both gotten used to each other. Well, admittedly I've never had a cat, but I suppose the same rules apply to other animals. Cats and ferrets might be a bit different, though." He narrowed his eyes at her briefly; he recognized her face but it took him a few moments to place her. Once he did, a friendlier smile lit up his face. "Hey, you're Roxy's friend, right? Melanie, I think. I'm dreadful with names, so hopefully I got that right."

“You’re not about to faint, are you?" Hugo said in a joking manner, his face lit up with a rare cheeky smile as he waved a hand in front of Albus’ face to catch his attention. ”Cause if you do, you should know while you’re conscious that I’m going to just ditch you here.”
Albus rolled his eyes at Hugo's comment, but though he wouldn't admit it he actually did feel a bit lightheaded. "Very funny, Hugo. I'm not gonna faint, I'm just... amazed. He's a great inspiration for any quidditch player out there, so this would be a wonderful... learning opportunity." It sounded like bullshit even to his ears, but if they teased him this much about it now, Albus had no idea what they would do if he outright admitted that he had a crush on him.

"You don't know who Flores is?" Albus asked, honestly shocked for a moment. "He's a quidditch player from Brazil - just about the best one, really. Brilliant. A huge inspiration." Albus glanced back at the newsstand with wonder. "He's coming to England."

Looking up at the familiar voice, Tonks lips curled in a grin. “He’s nothing compared to Fernando Diaz, just saying. Wotcher, Albus!”
Albus greeted her with a grin. "Wotcher, Tonks. I didn't know you'd be here today!" After the surprise of seeing her wore off, he returned to the topic at hand and shook his head in mock disappointment. "Tsk. And I had such high hopes for you, Tonks. Flores is clearly the better Chaser, which you can see in just about every match. He's an admiration for any Quidditch player out there." Plus, he was the more attractive of the two.

There were a lot things Albus wanted to say that he could see him underneath everything (but that probably wasn't entirely true), that this wasn't the time for romance (but who knew when that time would come?), that he knew nothing of love and couldn't give him any advice. But he didn't voice any of the thoughts going through his head, instead only nodding slowly and giving a light shrug.
"She sounds brilliant, James, honestly. You should go for her. Merlin knows that if anyone here deserves some happiness it's you."

"Did anyone see a grey cat around here? Fairly small, could be mistaken for a kitten.. a bit feisty?"
"A bit feisty is an understatement. I saw her in the boys' bathroom, and just barely escaped with my life. Look battle scars!" He pulled up the leg of his pants to show her the scratch marks on his shin, but he hoped she understood that he wasn't actually upset about it. "I'm not sure where he went, though want some help looking?"

Lily tapped her foot impatiently as she leaned against the wall, the weight of the dresses and skirts she was carrying making her arms ache. Finally, she shook her head and walked over to the stall, knocking on the fitting room door. “For fuck’s sake, you’ve been in there for over thirty minutes. You aren’t dead, right?”
Albus had never been particularly fond of shopping. When he went in with no plans of what to buy, he found too many things he liked and often ended up purchasing none at all. When he knew exactly what he wanted, he never found it. All in all, his shopping experience had been bad to say the least. This one topped them all, however. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when he heard the familiar voice. "Thank Merlin. Lily, I'm... stuck."

"Do you ever hear something so ridiculously absurd, and you’re nearly positive that your eyes would roll so hard and right out of their sockets if physically possible?”
"Every time the adults adults say something, to be quite honest," Albus muttered.

"Oh for fuck I’d like to enjoy my butterbeer in peace, please.”
"All the tables are occupied, so what do you expect me to do? 'Sides, I won't be a bother I make for wonderful company."

"Do we have to go home for Christmas this year…..”
There was a part of Albus that had just as little desire to return home during the break as James did, but he didn't want to admit it out loud. "Is that question tradition by now?"

"Just because my nails are still drying doesn’t mean I won’t hurt you if you even think about touching that." Lucretia snapped, not moving an inch, but keeping a wary eye on the other person.
"You're gonna hurt me for taking my own potions book?" Albus replied, raising his eyebrows at her. "Sounds reasonable. It's always nice to talk to such a sweetheart as yourself. Really brightens my day."

Albus showed little interest in what the Hufflepuff was saying, too focused on his DADA homework, but at her last words he perked up. ❝Who can say no to cookies?❞

Melanie stumbled forward as she tried to scoop her kitten up in her arms, only to be left nearly falling flat on her face. The fifth year scrambled forward chasing after her new cat, a present from her older brother. ❝ Watch out don’t step on her! ❞ She cried with a small gasp.
"Whoa!" Albus exclaimed, nearly losing his balance as he tried to avoid stepping on the cat that ran between his legs. At the sight of the girl chasing after it, Albus quickly realized what was going on and turned around to help her catch the cat. It was faster than he thought it would be, but after a while he managed to scoop the little animal up in his arms ( though not without some protests ). "Easy there, tiger." When the Gryffindor in his sister's year caught up, he offered her the kitten. "Is she new?"
