Something hardly any Percy Jackson fan talks about is the fact that all demigods have a learning disability. Growing up with a learning disability, I often would get made fun of for not being able to read aloud correctly in elementary school. I would struggle with basic words. But when I first read Percy Jackson, it was one of the first times in my life that made me feel like having a learning disability wasn’t such a bad thing. And for that, I’m genuinely thankful that Rick Riordan included learning disability in his series.

Hey guys, I’m sorry I haven’t been posting, I’ve just had a lot to do (I haven’t posted in a week, that’s how busy school and life is. 😉) One thing that happened that isn’t school or study related is that I pissed off a friend, and I really should’ve been more careful. (So for this story, I won’t give out names, so we’ll just call the boy bob and the girl Ella.) So Ella has teased and picked on bob for almost the whole semester. We thought she was just joking, and we just let it slide. However, it got to the point to where we just got annoyed with it. You see, bob has just been through a lot, and we just don’t want him getting teased so much. So in AP Lang, I tell Ella to cut back on the teasing. What does she do? She stands up, says “you know what, whatever”, and just walked off. So what I said to her that day was pretty harsh, so yesterday, I sent her a message on Snapchat apologizing for hurting her feelings and told her that bob is just going through a lot, but I still wanted to be her friend. She only opened the message and she refuses to talk to me, which I think is a little too petty for me just asking her to stop teasing my other friend. But she goes on to post about her boyfriend ignoring her. She went on on how she hates how people will just leave you on read and won’t talk about whatever they need to deal with, which I think is a little hypocritical. So this was my rant for the day. On the flip side, I got to practice driving today! I really want to get my license, but I’m far from ready for my driving test. But I’ve recently started practicing more, so that’s a good thing! So now for school: I only had one test last week, and that was a timed essay in AP Lang. In engineering, we started learning about trusses, and I don’t understand trusses at all. 😅 We also had a party for best buddies after school Friday. This week, I have a quiz in Spanish (I think? I don’t understand our long term sub at all.), I get new projects for AP Lang and engineering, and I’ll have to finish an art project. Other than that, I have volunteering, an orthodontist appointment, anime club, winter formal for best buddies, and I hope to go to this new Harry Potter club my school started (I may not get to due to stupid sectionals.) Yay, my first actual studyblr post! This has been a long week. Monday, I had a physics test and an anime club meeting. Tuesday, I had a quiz in history, a speaking test in Spanish (which really sucked because I had to do it in front of my teacher, and I don’t like him), and a meeting for national honor society. Wednesday, I had a meeting for Best Buddies and started a new project for art. Thursday, I had an orchestra officer meeting and ice skating after school. Finally, today, I had sectionals for orchestra and tests for AP Lang and algebra. And let’s add studying for the SAT on top of all that! At least I’m now officially done with semester 1, so now I’m halfway through junior year! This weekend, I’m going to have lunch with my grandma for her birthday, attempt to visit my friend at her job, skype some of my friends on my new laptop, meet up with friends for ice cream, and sadly, studying for the sat.

So I’ve decided to try out this studyblr stuff. But FYI, this will be my personal tumblr and studyblr.

So as I turn this account into a personal account and studyblr, I should introduce myself. My name is Hannah, I’m 16, and I’m currently a junior in high school.

This school year, I am taking:

AP Language

Pre AP Algebra 2

Physics

US History (Ew)

Spanish 2 (Even more ew)

Principles of Engineering

Art 2

Orchestra (play the viola)

Other activities I do:

I started learning how to ice skate a few months ago. I am currently in the adult 1 class (class for beginner skaters ages 15+)

I’m in National Honor Society

I’m in my school’s anime club

I’m in SWEnext (Society of Women Engineers) A club for girls in engineering classes in my district.

I’m in best buddies (A club where a group of 3 peer buddies are paired with a kid with special needs, and we hang out with them and we have different kinds of events and activities.)

Things that are coming up:

Spring break

I take the SAT in March.

My birthday’s in April

A lot of my family and friends have birthdays in March-June.

I’m quitting orchestra (my director made me start to hate orchestra)

I’m volunteering in the spring and summer and I’m working in the summer.

I’m going to start my senior year, and I’ll be taking:

AP Literature

AP Biology (most likely)

Pre AP Precalc

Pre AP computer science

Government/Economics

Theatre (In place of orchestra)

Aerospace engineering

Intro to culinary arts (maybe)

And I’m going to apply to UNT, TTU, UTD, and maybe other colleges in West Texas.

Goals:

To get a good score on the SAT.

To get A’s and B’s

To get admitted into UNT, UTD, and TTU (still not sure which one I want to go to yet)

To get into the next level of ice skating (Adult 2)

To get my driver’s license

More about me:

I am a gryffindor

I have anxiety, but it has been getting better.

I like to read action/adventure, fantasy, and sometimes science novels. I especially love Harry Potter.

I like to watch some tv shows, movies, and anime. I really like attack on titan, Steven universe, marvel, Star Wars, doctor who, RWBY, noragami, and I’ve currently started watching voltron, riverdale, and stranger things!

I really love spring/summer. I like being outside, swimming, hanging out with friends, being active, etc.

I hate public speaking. I’m fine with answering questions in class, presenting things with at least one other person, or presenting in front of a small group, but if I have to present alone in front of the class (or in front of the teacher for that matter) hell naw! (And I’m taking theatre next year 😅)

That most pajamas generally made for women and girls either have long pants that you would usually wear in the winter, or shorts so short that your ass cheeks are practically hanging out. Like, why can’t we have shorts that go above our knees, but long enough to where we wouldn’t have to worry about our buttcheeks flashing? And where I live, it’s 80 degrees outside at night during the summer, so I would like to be comfortable and wear pajama shorts, but have my butt all the way covered, ya know what I mean?
