You're a little obsessed with yourself, aren't you?
well no one else is gonna do it

“No matter how good or bad you think life is, wake up each day and be thankful for life. Someone somewhere else is fighting to survive.”
— (via perrfectly)
There’s some weird false idea that when you’re working towards being confident or happy or loving yourself you won’t have bad days. You will, and they will be horrible. You will feel like shit and nothing will go right. Those days don’t take away from all your progress or set the tone for your entire journey. Experience those days. It’s okay. Your journey is still valid.
You can have bad days, weeks, or months. All that matters is that you forgive yourself and move on. Slow progress is still progress
self care is also being honest with yourself about your negative habits and mistakes. it’s also taking ownership of your faults and growing from them. self care is diverting from a negative space to a positive one. creating light and balance. blooming. watering your own flowers. being gentle but honest with yourself.
so take care.

Gender reveal parties, and big planned reveals, literally were not a thing ten, fifteen years ago. Don’t let anyone pull that “it’s a tradition!” crap on you, youngsters. They’re LYING. People would either get the ultrasound or not to find out about the genitals, and tell people or not. That was that.
The fuss over “revealing” a baby’s gender in utero stinks of pushback against the shift toward a more nuanced understanding of gender. I mean yeah part of it is social media, and trends catching on, but don’t think for a minute this isn’t part of some regressive attitudes creeping into the mainstream with a cute (blue or pink) bow on it.
Even the woman who helped popularize gender reveal parties is like…slow your roll, fam.
me when people act like friends being married at my age is normal
ok but imagine a roomba that’s programmed to react positively when being scratched or petted
#or a roomba that’s programmed to recognize their owner and drive up to them for no other reason than to be petted
roomba company, please make this happen
I have a Neato Botvac that has an optical sensor to find its way around (Roombas just bump into things and derps off in a random direction) and yesterday it did its “dee-dummm” sad noise while under the couch, stopped what it was doing, and hummed over to me and stopped beside my chair, with its error message saying, “Please dust me off so I can see.” I wiped it off and sent it on its way, and it did its “doo doo do doooo!” of happiness and finished the living room. It’s never done that before, but I like to think that I’ve gained its trust over the past few months, and it knows it can come to me for help.

I could lift you up I could show you what you want to see and take you where you want to be You could be my luck Even if the sky is falling down I know that we’ll be safe and sound safe and sound I could fill your cup You know my river won’t evaporate This world we still appreciate You could be my luck Even in a hurricane of frowns I know that we’ll be safe and sound
Tip your server. Hold the door for the person behind you. Pick up some trash. Impeach Trump. It's the little things that have a ripple effect and make the world a better place.
we move to a new city. we unpack the essentials and i make you dinner in our new kitchen. tomorrow i will start a new job that doesnt make my bones ache, and you will unpack and revel in the distance and the newness you have always craved. it may not be home forever, but we will start to build the foundations of our life here in a way we couldn’t before.
