"You could wear a trash bag and still be stunning", the cheek kiss photo, the record player date, THEIR SONG, "I'd eat cereal with you on it", the interview, HIM GOING TO CHECK ON HER AFTER THE ARTICLE CAME OUT, THE CLUB DATE, the way he looked crushed when she suggested they 'pretend' to date, "Come sit with me", him constantly reaching out, the unguarded smiles, them giggling over the sponsorships products, "You make me better Adriana", "What's really going on between you and Adriana?" (proudest cutest smile ever) "She's...incredible. I'm just...I'm really happy."

I think the idea of the first love being the true love; the person with you have to end, is very present for Adriana. Freddie was the person with she skated when her mom was alive, Freddie appears in every remember she have about her mom. And Adriana, inevitably, wants to keep her memories in a tangible way.

The little moments where Freddie and Adriana have a real conversation, all of them are based on the past. At the first, it’s understandable based their inconclusive separation, but it doesn’t change after; not when Adriana goes to his room that should have been the moment to stabilize their relationship and his character as a love interest, not in their kiss that literally happened where they were as kids and repeated the same memory than in the room scene. And, in every one of them, Adriana’s mom is mentioned, it’s not just remember their younger versions, never.

In the opposite way, the scenes with Brayden and Adriana shown a complete different kind of connection. Between them, the memories are just a vehicle to talk about THEMSELVES, the music they love, the things that hurts them, the things that they enjoy, their opinions… And, as result, the apparition of the support and understanding between two people that really spent time knowing each other, the kind of connection that they have been developed during all the season.

People change with the time and sometimes, they don’t match with their new versions. In this case, they’re stuck in the remember of how they were, and that’s the reason for why it’s so evident the contrast between Adriana with Freddie and Adriana with Brayden. The girl she truly is now is the girl that is with Brayden, and the girl that she was is the girl that was with Freddie in the past. She doesn’t shine in the same way with Freddie because that version of herself doesn’t exist anymore, and I really hope they show this in s2 as she’s even different in the rink, with Freddie, Adriana skated without taking any risk but now she knows she’s capable of skate differently and be more herself in the ice.
